A Makeover with Quick Silver from Glidden: Teen Boy Bedroom reveal
See how I transformed my teen boy bedroom into a much needed makeover with Quick Silver from Glidden that I picked up at Walmart.

A Makeover with Quick Silver from Glidden
I was at Walmart one day minding my own business and happen to walk by the paint section. I noticed that they had ready to go colors that were already mixed for $20.00 a gallon. There was a color that caught my eye called Quick Silver so I picked up a few gallons. I was a bit skeptical because of the price, in fact I can’t remember the last time I paid less than $45.00 for a gallon of paint. Can you?

The Reveal
My son’s bedroom was next on the list for a much needed makeover. It had been a very long time that I had done anything to his room and truth be told it looked like a toddlers room with no personality. I shared the plan and the before here. Tell me if you agree. A bit boring, right?
I was trying to incorporate my son’s love for fishing with a slight nautical vibe without being overly themed.

What I did in the space
In addition to using a fun blue color on the upper part of the walls and ceiling, here’s what else I did in his room.
- Upgraded the previous 16 year old bed to a platform bed with charcoal upholstered headboard. I loved the bed so much I got one for my other son.
- Got a new floating night stand (Drifted Gray)
- Since the previous bed had storage for clothes, I got a new dresser.
- Reused the blue rug from another space.
- Replaced the ceiling fan.
- Hung a fishing print that I picked up here.
- Utilized the shelves that I once had in screen porch here for books and knick knacks.
- Utilized these hooks for all his baseball caps
- Created a gallery wall of his fishing accolades
- Added gray and white bedding. Found this for next to nothing.
- I moved this chair in from our game room, but my son decided he didn’t want it in his room since he never sat in it.

Overall I am really happy how the space turned out and so is my son, although he could probably sleep in just about any space and be perfectly fine. He’s not fussy at all about bedrooms, only fussy when he’s not out on the water catching bass.

I did some updating to other son’s room and will share that as soon as I get some photos. To see my previous bedroom makeover I did for my daughter, check out this post. I still LOVE the way her beachy vibe room turned out.
I hope this post provides some inspiration if you are planning a teen boy bedroom makeover someday soon.
