Using Red in a White Holiday Kitchen
Today it’s all about how to add touches of red to your white holiday kitchen, and I am excited to share it with you on the ……
This week I am joining a group of talented bloggers who will be sharing some of their favorite holiday rooms. Hosted by The Everyday Home and Town and Country Living, each day we will be bringing you lots of holiday ideas and inspiration. You can find the complete list of bloggers at the end of the post.
This year I made a conscious decision with my holiday decorating to slow it down and totally enjoy every minute of the holiday season. You can see my full holiday house tour here. Â I want to create memories…not stress. Spend less time decorating… and have more time for fun.
My theme this year was red….and simple. Since simple is more my nature….not naughty, and how I tend to live and decorate anyways, it wasn’t difficult to create a home that was festive and full of holiday cheer without displaying every Christmas decoration that I own….which I have done in the past.
This year I have come to the conclusion that a red tray with my everyday utensils or a red cake plate can give my white kitchen plenty of reason to celebrate the season. Or, how just by placing 3 vases with paper whites in a tray, you create instant holiday decor…as you wait with anticipation.
It’s the little pops of red like adding some red glasses or a jar filled with candy canes, that give my kitchen just enough cheer, without screaming too much.
But loud enough to hear Merry Christmas. To see my full 2015 Holiday Home Tour click here.
grateful
for the quite sounds of the season

You are so smart to do less and stress less about the decorating. I did the same thing. Gosh we didn’t even pull all the boxes and bins out. I realized afterwards that some things I had out last year I didn’t even see this year, but I had plenty out. I love your red additions.
Love the paperwhite bulbs in those vases! I buy them every year to help get me through the winter months!
Love all your pops of red with your pale blue walls. A gorgeous Christmas kitchen. x

In my humble opinion, the use of red is always right especially in a kitchen and at Christmas. Cute naughty towel. Linda
