Holiday Cards Made Fun & Easy
My kids absolutely do not like the annual production of the family Christmas card but this year I finally found some Christmas card relief.
They would rather do anything else……like clean up their room everyday for a year, or give up video game privileges for the week instead. Forget about getting hubby in the shot, he is worse then the kids. I on the other hand, despite the push back from the family, look forward to coming up with that one shot that will represent the year of growth and change, and sent out with our warmest holiday wishes to family and friends.
Holiday Cards Made Fun & Easy Tips
So this year, I did a bit of planning ( to reduce the family pain) and used a vacation shot for one card, and created a fun photo booth with props for the kid card. I didn’t even tell the kids what I was doing, just that mom wanted to take some fun photos of them one afternoon. Guess what….it worked. They had no idea. No screaming, yelling or crying. It was fabulous.
So after the family photo was decided on, I needed the card selection and printing to be stress free. This year I am using Walmart for my card printing. Here’s what you should know about Walmart’s Holiday Cards.
- There’s over 500 fresh designs available in-store and over 1,900 fresh designs available online
- In-Store: Instant or 1-Hour Cards
- Can’t beat the prices. 4×8 starting at .44 each , 5×7 starting at .75 each and premium silver-foil lined envelopes are included (in-store only).

Just visit one of the 3,500 Walmart photo locations nationwide or order online at Walmart. Walmart is offering free shipping on all cards + gifts through 12/30/15. Here’s a few shots from the family Christmas card event….that nobody knew was going on.

Beautiful kiddos and what a fun card!
Oh Laura I can so relate to this as I go through the holiday family photo drama every year with my girls too. They will take pictures of themselves all day to share with friends, but when I want to take a picture of them they want no part of it. I love the idea of using the props, I may just have to try that this year. Your kids are the cutest and love their pj’s.
Those photo props are sooooo cute! Wonder if I can trick my 15 and 18 year olds into posing with them? 🙂
Great idea, Laura! It doesn’t get any easier as they get older, unfortunately, but we just lay the guilt on them. 🙂
Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving!
xo Heidi
