The Easiest Burlap Wreath You will ever make!
This is seriously going to be the easiest burlap wreath you will ever make. And after you make this one, you will make another….and another. Just ask my front doors, they will vouch for me. These wreaths are not only easy to make , but they are perfect year round for any season.
I just love the look of a full, layered burlap wreath.. I have two of the Spring wreaths hanging on my doors this season. The wreaths are fun to embellish based on the time of year, or you can just leave them alone and enjoy a more natural look.
Supplies needed for the easiest burlap wreath you will ever make:
- 12,16, 18 inch metal wreath form- you can pick these up at any craft store or find them here. for this wreath, I used 16 inch.
- 5 inch burlap rolls- for this wreath I used about 12-15 yards ( one roll is 10 yards). You can pick this up at any craft store or find some here.
- scissors
- embellishments- optional
Steps to make the easiest burlap wreath you will ever make:
Step 1. Begin by looping one end of the burlap through the wire wreath form. I looped my burlap through the top, middle and outer rims.
Step 2. Continue weaving the burlap in and out of the metal form in a row pattern ( going across the width of the wreath form) around the entire wreath.
Step 3. To create the fullness of the wreath, I looped the burlap through the rims and pushed everything together. Continue this process all around the metal form. The more burlap you use, the fuller the wreath will be.
Step 4. When you are done weaving your burlap, you will want to go back and “fluff out” any twisted loops and move any loops to conceal the metal frame.
I used jute to secure my bunny and flowers to the wreath. The jute blends in with the burlap and is hard to see. You can also use floral wire.
Now you know what easy means and you are ready to make your wreath.

Hi~So cute~!!, I really want to make this wreath, but I just have a question on how you started the ribbon. Did you secure it to the wire with hot glue to start it off? And was the ribbon wired? I did not find the burlap ribbon at Hobby Lobby. I will try Joanne's and Michaels tomorrow. If I can't find it there, I will have to order it on-line. Thanks for the extra help.

I can't find the burlap at my Michaels, Joanns or Hob Lob. Does anyone have an online source they would share? Thanks so much. CindyML
Can you please post the additional directions for getting this started? it would be very helpful to many–
Ok everyone I just figured it out. You don't wrap the burlap. You just pinch the fabric to make a double layer and push it up through the slots in the wire frame. I pinched it through the top slot then the middle slot then through the bottom. Once I had made one pass down I brought the fabric back to the top slot and started over. You just make sure both of the pieces you pinch up through the slot make the ruffle size you want. You have to do a few passes before it resembles the actual wreath you are envision so dont give up!
Thank You! This Helps A Lot!
I'd love the notes too. Bvshuman@gmail.com Thanks!
Could someone please email me the instructions on how to start this wreath? I am hoping to do it this weekend.

I would love the extra instructions too! Thanks! ean1236@yahoo.com
Please email me the extra instructions as well. Love this wreath and want to give it a try 🙂 jcaskey@latech.edu Thanks!!
What am I doing wrong? My burlap is 15ft long and 4in wide but that only covered about 1/3 of the wreath?! How do I "spread" it out so I don't need to use 3 rolls of burlap to make this???
Love your wreath…. I was having trouble starting mine and found this site that followed your lead and has details on how to start the wreath
http://www.lifeonmarsblog.net/2012/03/easy-burlap-wreath.html
I had to use 2 30 foot rolls of the burlap to cover it properly. I just started looping, and I didn't secure the ribbon starting out. After several loops it starts holding itself together. It looks fantastic, thank you!
Hi! I just featured you on my blog with this tutorial and I expounded a tad on your instruction. I found that twisting before looping and pulling it through helped it a lot!
Could someone send me the notes too? I am having trouble starting mine. kimstanley@cox.net
would like the directions please wmreid1@comcast.net
