Pretty Fall Tables to set this season

I have gathered some of my favorite pretty fall tables to set this season. Easy to set, using what you have and bound to make a statement around the table.

Although I don’t plan our thanksgiving dinner too far in advance, I do plan the tablescape. Even if it’s just my family of 5, I like to set a pretty table. Sans the paper plates for the day. I find setting the table as another form of creative expression that makes me smile.

I have put together a few of my favorite table ideas from the past. All are easy to set and use what you have to create a beautiful table.

Gold Tapestry and Seeded Eucalyptus

This table uses a mustard color wall hanging and some seeded eucalyptus. I placed random-sized vases, and candles on the table as well as the mantel to tie both areas together. The dishes and glasses are my everyday stuff and always complement any color scheme I go with. See more of this table here.

Traditional Setting

For this tablescape, I went all traditional. I scattered pumpkins, flowers, gourds, and candles down the center of the table.Ā  For my table cloth, I used an unused curtain panel. Yes, think outside the box and use what you have to pull a look together.

Use nontraditional Fall colors

I found these pretty velvet pumpkins and decided to go blue for this tablescape. I searched the house to find the decorative balls, wood bundles, and bird cages. For a little gift for my guests, I placed a small candle inside of each cage. I found the blue glasses at the dollar store. This table look is pretty versatile and with the removal of the pumpkins and could be used in spring and summer as well.

Incorporate natural elements

I love incorporating natural elements into any look around the house. For this easy table look, I placed some wheatgrass and snips of magnolia inĀ  Moscow mules and amber-colored vases. I found some cute plaid pumpkins at the Dollar Spot at Tarjay to add to each place setting. Again, same white plates.

If I have time and feeling crafty I would love to do this again. I used brown craft paper and a stencil to create a table runner. A super easy project just takes more than a minute to do. Get all the easy details here. Something else I try to do each year is the thankful leaves. Starting in November everyone writes what they are thankful for each day and I string the leaves up somewhere in the house for everyone to see. It’s a sweet tradition that I hope will continue for many years.

Whether it’s paper plates or your best china, remember to set a table that evokes love and gathering. It’s not really what the table looks like that’s important but the people around it.

Enjoy your day!

  1. Laura,
I love your tablescapes! Especially the use of natural elements and things you find around the house. Once again, your comment about family/friends around the table are most important!
