Easy to make Apple Bomb Treats
These easy-to-make Apple Bomb treats are kid-baked and approved using cinnamon rolls. A delicious morning, afternoon, or evening treat that the entire family will love. Did I mention they are so simple to make?
Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing how much my Lily loves to be in the kitchen baking. As much as I think I have stepped up my game in the culinary arena, she is on fire lately. For her birthday a couple of weeks ago all she wanted was things for the kitchen so we got her a food processor, measuring cups, and some knives. Don’t worry….. she is ultra responsible with the kitchen gadgets.

Easy to make Apple Bomb Treats
We happily stumbled upon using cinnamon rolls for the apple bombs. You can also use dinner rolls.
What you need
Other than the time to chop apples and unwrap the caramels, this apple bomb treat is super simple to make. You basically need 4 ingredients (not counting flour to roll the dough, cooking spray for your pan and seasoning).
1 roll of Cinnamon Buns. I used the jumbo rolls and got 8 servings once I cut them in 1/2.
12-24 Wrapped caramels and chopped into 4ths
2 apples…any kind you like, cored and chopped and coated with cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg. A pinch of each or seasoned to taste.
2 tablespoons of melted butter
What you do
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Place the cimmamon rolls on some flour and roll them out flat.
Cut into 1 1/2- 2 inch circles
Place chopped apples and caramel into each dough circle
Bring all corners together and pinch to close the apple bomb
Place the apple bomb treats in a baking dish, brushing the apple bombs with melted butter.
Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top and any remaining apples.
Cook for 15 mins or until golden brown.
Optional- To spice up the treats, grab a handful of caramels, along with 1/4 cup heavy cream, and melt in the microwave until smooth. Drizzle on the cooked apple bombs.
Tips from the chef
When rolling out the dough, less flour is better. The dough needs to be sticky in order to pinch together.
Finely dice the apples so that they all fit in the apple bomb.
Try a warm apple bomb over vanilla ice cream. It really is the bomb!
