Kid Favorite Rice Krispie Spring Flower Recipe
If you know me and my blog you know that I am not a candidate to win the Spring Baking Championship. I can though turn an ordinary rice krispie treat into a pretty Spring flower. Initially these were going to be eggs until my kids said that they looked like a blob. Okay, plan B….flowers.
A few years ago I made these for a Spring party and had some left over floral cupcake liners. I thought I would add a new twist to an ordinary rice crispie treat and create Spring flowers.
What you need:
- 5 Cups Rice Krispie Cereal
- 5 Tbsp. Butter
- 5 Cups Mini Marshmallows ( flavored if preferred)
- Wax paper
- Cake icing (in the can makes it easier)
- Embellishments like sprinkles, candy flowers etc
- pastel or flower shaped cup cake liners (like the one’s below)
What you do:
- Melt the butter in a pan on medium heat.
- Add Marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted.
- Turn heat to low.
- Add the Rice Krispie Cereal and mix until the cereal is completely coated with the Marshmallow Mixture.
- Place spoonfuls on wax paper
- Roll into
blobseggs or flowers just to be safe. I mist my hands with water so that the marshamallow doesn’t stick to my hands. - Cool
- Decorate using cake frosting and embellishments like your sprinkles or candy
- Place inside your cupcake liner
Regardless of what the kids may call these, they sure will look pretty on your spring dessert table….and the kids love them.
