Adding a touch of blush to your Spring Mantel
Adding a touch of blush to your Spring Mantel in small subtle ways can add such a nice impact to your seasonal decor
If you saw my ‘temporary’ family room you may have noticed a peek at my mantel all ready for Spring. It seems my love for blush has no end in sight….which I am sure a break-up is inevitable at some point. Much like some other colors that have come and gone around here.
I am excited to be a part of the Seasonal Simplicity tour hosted by Krista at The Happy Housie. You can see the Spring Wreath I shared last week and an easy spring centerpiece here. Today it’s all about Spring Mantels and Vignettes. You can see the full line-up at the end of this post. So many inspiring ideas that you don’t want to miss.
Adding a touch of blush to your Spring Mantel
This is the mantel in my keeping room which is right off of my kitchen. We are temporarily using this room as a family room until we finish some painting in that space. Although I love the fireplace and mantel, it’s not always an easy area to decorate. Since the mantel is higher and the fireplace is floor to ceiling, anything that I put on there needs to be somewhat substantial, or it gets lost and looks out of scale.
Try an odd grouping of items
I love trying to group things in 3’s or odd numbers, and not necessarily grouping the same item. This year I picked up some brass candlestick holders from here. Love the height, the price and the modern vibe they add to my traditional mantel and fireplace. I am a big fan of mixing styles and more importantly mixing up and creating a look that you love.
Add a bit of green with the blush
I placed these blush colored vases ( aren’t they gorgeous) on each side. To avoid looking matchy- matchy the vases are different shapes and heights. A maidenhair fern in a wicker basket was added for a touch of green and added texture. To balance out the green, I added a a sweet mossy rabbit and a little bird.
Since we are not completely finished with our fireplace this season, I added a fern that can easily be moved when we are burning a fire. It’s also use to soften and distract the eye from the firebox. Honestly I am not a a big fan of a black firebox, unless there is a fire in it.
And if our weather keeps going like it is with 70 degree temperature, I may be looking at it more often.
I’ll be sharing more of my spring home throughout the month (so don’t forget to come back) but you can see last year’s Spring home tour here. Enjoy all the Spring Mantels today and don’t forget to follow Duke Manor Farm on Instagram and Facebook where I share tips, projects and behind the scenes of my real life funny farm at Duke Manor.

I love everything about this Laura! So simple and fresh, it’s perfect. I’m totally envious of the pretty little maidenhair fern too 😉
we need to have a lunch and have plants 101. a beautiful maidenhair fern is in your future!
Oh I would love that, especially now that I know we’re neighbors! I need all the help I can get.
Hi Laura –
You have the best fireplace in all of blogland. 🙂 Here is to hoping that spring arrives soon and you can begin to hang out outside around a fire and roast marshmallows with the kids. XO
Pretty, pretty. Like the touches of the bunny and duck. We are getting 12 more inches tomorrow. I can’t stand it but nothing I can do.
Cindy
An amazing mantel and no dust bunnies – how do you do it! Now get outside where it’s warm – I’ll be bracing for more snow.

Laura, I love your stone fireplace! It’s gorgeous! Love what you have done on your mantel. The fern in the wicker basket looks so nice.
