Traditional Holiday Tour 2024

Happy Holidays from Duke Manor Farm!

I went with a more traditional holiday decor approach around Duke Manor Farm this year. Decorating our new 12 foot tree may have taken it all out of me! Honestly, that tree is a beast, but it sure does look pretty.

Traditional holiday decor in the Kitchen and Family Room

My approach to this years decorating was to use what I had and go with traditional holiday decor. Classic red and white along with items that have meaning to my family. Because of the size of the new tree, I did pick up the stripped ribbon that I also used on the mantel. Good thing I kept all the colored balls because I had just enough for the tree. Also on the tree, our favorite family ornaments including all the homemade kid ornaments that bring me so much joy to look at.

I brought out the nutcrackers to join the holiday fest again this year. I just love how you can incorporate them in just about any color scheme, like I did here in our den or here in the main area of the house in years past. What’s the point of a collection if you don’t bring them out! What holiday collections do you have?

Around the Entryway and Living Room

This was the first year I didn’t put a tree up in the Living Room. I put it in our game room instead. I always enjoyed having a tree in the center of the house and seeing it when you walk in from the front door. I will say, I kind of miss it so I may bring it back next year.

Around the Game room

The game room makeover was the ‘family gift’ that my hubby and I surprised the kids with last year. We all love this space so I wanted some extra cheer in the room. Because I didn’t want to crowd it up, I just added the tree and a few things to the console table. I actually went with the same color scheme ( navy and rust) that I used here. If you get a chance take this tour. It was probably one of my favorite years of decorating the house.

Around the Den

This is the area right outside the kids room so I usually always decorate the space. I went with a more colorful vibe here with a mix of all colors on the tree.

I hope you enjoyed the holiday snippets. Remember, this season it’s not about the number of trees or the number of nutcrackers you have around your house, it’s the joy you feel in your heart…….with or without the decorations.
