Covering up a perfectly almost new sofa
Happy Labor Day! It’s a long weekend and although I’m not exactly doing anything too exciting, I am happy for an extra day to chill. We are wrapping up the new coop project and laying mulch in the beds, I know woo-hoo. Please tell me you are doing something fun and exciting?

Weekend Hangout at Duke Manor Farm
Chicken Coop Progress
I cannot wait to show you the new chicken coop. It is so good I want to hangout in there! We built a new coop in another area on the property and decided to change the look of it from the current one. I didn’t share much of the old one, even though I got lots of questions and inquiries. This time I will share all the details of the new build in a later post.
This was the old Chicken Compound over the years.

Here’s the progress of the new chicken coop.
Best way to renew 20 year old tile
Paint it. This isn’t the first time I have shared how I renewed some tile in my house with grout pens. Love this stuff. I decided to freshen up the grout in the guest bath downstairs. It is a black and white checkered pattern with black grout and after 22 years, still love it.

However, over the years the grout has lighten up a bit with cleaning products(?), so I wanted to use a black grout pen to darken it up. Here’s a before and after so you can see how amazing these pens are.
Side note: I painted the bathroom the same color (Blissful Blue from Sherwin Williams) as the workout room, but I don’t really love the color in here. It reads too purple because the room doesn’t have any natural light. So, when I am finished with the other 100 projects waiting in line, this space will get a new color on the walls.
Other Randomness from the week
- I went to a Senior Parent meeting this week. I am definitely in freak out mode now!
- I don’t know if I look any younger ( let’s hope anyways) but I can honestly tell you I love how this serum feels on my face. I have also been using this Roc with retinol for the last few months. The joys of getting older.
- I picked up a few rolls of liner for the kitchen. My drawers and cabinets were desperate. I love how it instantly makes the inside of drawers look brand new again.
- I was so sad to hear of this musicians passing. Totally grew up on his music.
- My girl has been tearing it up on the cross country trails this season. I wish I could run like her. She did not get that gene from me! FYI- my husband runs.

- I have this pillow in my cart ( it’s on sale too) as I think about adding some touches of Fall around the house.
- Trying to decide what color to use in your home this Fall, Check out this post on fall color choices.
Well, the mulch is staring me down so I I better get outside. Unfortunately, it’s not going to spread itself. Hope ya’ll have a wonderful day and if you are lucky enough to have a long weekend, enjoy that as well!

I’ll want a full tour of the new fowl hut, so far it sort of looks like a Frank Lloyd Wright design. It’s 100* here so the most I’ll do is waddle out and cut flowers, but no guarantee for that as I’m nursing the virus I managed to escape the past three years.
