Covering up a perfectly almost new sofa with Soferia for Stocksund Love Seat

I was just about ready to sell my IKEA Stocksund love seat on Facebook….good thing I didn’t. I have had this couch for close to 10 years and it is in amazing condition. The color (while at one time it did) just didn’t work in any of my spaces (I bought it to put in this room), so we stuck it in our unfinished media room. Well when we finished the media room over the summer, there was no place to hide the loveseat any longer.

Over the summer I finally pulled the trigger on new bedroom furniture (more about that in a later post). I was considering putting something at the end of the bed since I have plenty of space, and thought about that blue Ikea Stocksund Love Seat. Obviously the blue wasn’t going to be a good complement so I searched on the IKEA website and unfortunately the line has been discontinued. Too bad, as I have a few pieces ( one love seat and two chairs) and I know a popular line for many years.

So I did the next best thing and searched the internet for replacement covers for the Stocksund love seat.

Where I found my Soferia for Stocksund Love Seat

There are several sites that sell covers but I ended up purchasing from Soferia on Amazon. I decided Soferia for a couple of reasons.

1. Fabric selection. Soferia has multiple fabric types to choose from including Eco leather, Linen, Tweed and Velvet. I got the Velvet in light beige
2. Many colors to choose from. If you are not sure on your color, Soferia will send up to 5 swatches for you to review.
3. Price. The cost for the love seat cover was less than what a new love seat would have cost. I paid less than $400.00 for my cover.

Installing The Soferia ReplacementCover

This process could not have been easier to put my replacement cover on. After taking the old cover off, I simply placed the main body cover on followed by the two seat cushions and two back pillows. I used my steamer (clearly, I could have done a better job) to get most of the wrinkles off. I used my portable steamer after I put the cover on, but you can also do that before slipping it on to your couch.

I love the quality of the cover so much that I got one for the chair in the family room.

I steamed this one a bit better! 🙂
