Weekend Hangout at Duke Manor Farm #8
Weekend catch-up around Duke Manor Farm including summer camp, the property, and what we have been up to this week.
Happy weekend friends! I will be headed to north Georgia to pick my girl up from camp in just a couple of hours. She’s been gone for a week and I miss her like mad. It is a ‘no technology, kids should have fun’ environment so I have not been able to communicate with her over the last week. I am sure we will be catching up all weekend.
What I did this week
I mentioned in last week’s hangout that the project list around here has basically come to a halt this summer while the kids are on break. By the way, they go back to school this Friday. Anyhoo, after I pressure washed and put a sealer on the front porch I decided to clean the windows. See how sparkly they are?
I used to hire someone to clean my windows (I have 75-ish windows so it’s nice when someone else can do it) but I couldn’t get him scheduled soon enough. I basically mixed a ¼ cup of white vinegar and ½ teaspoon of Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle. I add 2 cups of water, shake and spray.
Totally random, but I love that time of the day when the sun is glowing on the front of the house. You can see the inspiration picture that I used when I designed our home here.
Around the property
We have had some nice rain lately so things are green and growing around the property. I got on the mower and cut some grass this week. In some weird way, I find that relaxing, just like I do when I am on the mower cutting grass. Some will call that weird, some of you will get me.
I always seem to get requests to see more around the property at Duke Manor Farm. I think I will use the weekend hangouts to do that. I don’t want you to miss beautiful shots like this. See the babies?
What I bought
My son’s favorite waterbottle for school
I picked up these stainless steel wine tumblers for a gift. My friend is always outside and by her pool so these are perfect.
Best price I could find on this Nike backpack. My kids don’t have lockers at school so they need something to hold all the stuff.
Check out the most amazing sunflower field I have ever seen! This would be a sunflower dream (maybe not quite as large) to have something like this at Duke Manor Farm.
