Easy Strawberry Salad with Walnuts
This easy strawberry salad with walnuts recipe is simple to make and is so delicious. It’s one of those salads that you can mix in minutes and eat or add other items like chicken, meat, or other veggies to it. This strawberry salad can be made as a meal, side salad, or perfect for lunch.
If there is one thing I have done less this summer, it’s been cooking big heavy meals. I’ve tried to cook less hot foods and make more casual meals for dinner like anything that could go on the grill and salads, lots of salads.
When we were visiting family this summer they served the most delicious strawberry salad with walnuts. My entire family couldn’t stop talking about how good it was and saying I “hope mom will make it when we get back home”. So I did, and luckily everyone still felt the same way about it.
Easy Strawberry Salad with Walnuts
This salad has the perfect blend of sweetness with strawberries and the crunch of walnuts. I love that you can improvise and add your favorite lettuce or spinach to it as well. Better yet, add some chicken or meat to it and it becomes a full meal.
Ingredients
1 head of romaine lettuce
1 head of Boston Bib lettuce
1 pint of strawberries but into slices or chunks
1 C of Monterrey Jack cheese
1/2 C of walnuts
For the dressing:
1 C of vegetable oil
3/4 C sugar
1/2 C red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves minced garlic
How to make a strawberry salad with walnuts
Step one – wash and chop your lettuce. Wash and dry your lettuce and chop it into small pieces. Place in a large mixing bowl.
Step two – prepare your strawberries. Wash and dry your strawberries. Cut them into slices or chunks. Put in your bowl with the lettuce.
Step three – add your Monterey cheese. Add your shredded cheese to the top of your lettuce and strawberries
Step four- add your walnuts. Add 1/2 cup of walnuts or your favorite nut or seeds to the lettuce mixture.
Step five- make your dressing- in another bowl or a jar (with a lid) mix together 1 cup vegetable oil, 3/4 c sugar. 1/2 cup wine vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 2 cloves minced garlic. Whisk ingredients together in a bowl or shake well in a jar. Refrigerate until you are ready to use the dressing.
Step six- pour dressing over the salad mixture. Pour the dressing over the top of your salad mixture and toss your salad. If you refrigerate your dressing make sure to mix it up well before pouring it on your salad.

Ingredients
- 1 head romaine lettuce
- 1 head boston bib lettuce
- 1 pint of strawberries cut in slices
- 1 C Monterry Jack cheese
- 1/2 C walnuts
- Dressing:
- 1 Cup of vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cloves minced garlic
Instructions
- Cut your Romaine and Boston bib lettuce in place in a large salad bowl
- Cut your strawberries into slices or chunks and add them to the salad
- Add 1 cup of Monterey Jack cheese to the salad
- Add 1/2 cup of walnuts to the salad
- Prepare the salad dressing by putting all the dressing ingredients in a mason jar and shaking well.
- Pour prepared dressing on top and toss the salad
Notes
Put salad dressing on the salad right before serving.
Shake dressing in the mason jar before serving as the ingredients will settle in layers after a few minutes.
You can substitute the romaine or boston bib for spinach or butter lettuce.
You can substitute walnuts for nuts like pecans and other seeds.
