Creative Solution for The Wall Cord Cover

If there is one thing that I am not a fan of it’s multiple cords that are visible on a pretty wall. For some reason, we seem to have more than just the average TV cord. There is one for the soundbar, the extra streaming device, and game consoles. Without the cords being concealed, it’s not very pleasing to look at (IMO), although I get the cords are necessary if you want to enjoy the electronics. So it was time to come up with a creative solution for a wall cord cover.

We have been using wall cord covers for a while now to hide the cords. I either get them at Home Depot or Amazon for less than $20.00. Did you know you can cut the wall cord cover to size to fit your wall? Something else that you can do is paint the cover so that it seamlessly blends in with your wall color. I have used wall cord covers on every wall in the house that we have cords showing and most recently in my husbands office.

When I finished wallpapering the den last week I was certain that 1) I loved how the wall looked 2) I did not want the wall cord cover to be obvious in it’s plain white current state. What’s a gal to do but cover it with the wallpaper.

With the peel and stick wallpaper it couldn’t have been easier applying it to the plastic wall cord cover. I’m sharing the steps below, although if you can peel the wallpaper backing, apply to the cover and cut off excess paper, you got this. That’s it.

It took just a few minutes to apply, another few minutes to position and hang on the wall. Before securing the wall cover to the wall, determine where you want your holes for any plugs or adapters to be. You can take a small drill bit and make a hole on the cord cover for your cords to pop out.

Painting or wallpapering a wall cord cover is a great solution if you can’t conceal the wires for the electronics in your wall. I’ll be back later this week with a reveal of the wall and some tips for hanging peel and stick wallpaper.
