Traditional Fall Porch 2021
I realized that I should hurry up and share my traditional fall porch before Christmas starts filling your inbox. Right? This year, my fall porch looks pretty similar to the one I did here. I loved the porch that year and figured why not repeat a favorite look. By the way, you should totally go with what you love, even if it’s on repeat.
Traditional Fall Porch 2021
We love spending time on our porch, especially this time of the year. We actually designed our home with a nice big porch in mind. My goal is to always make the porch an inviting yet functional entrance to our home. Other than the rockers, the bench, and some side tables we really try to keep it minimal so it’s easier to clean.
A few weeks back I got some giant mums at Home Depot. Although I have more shade than the sun on the porch, I have had to move them during the afternoon to get more sun. Mums love 4-6 hours of sun a day. To keep your mum’s looking fresh and beautiful all season long, check out my mum tips here.
Since the mums are on the orange side, although they are turning a more golden color each day, I brought out the plaid pillows I used here. The wreaths on the front doors are on repeat as well. Home Goods years ago. When it gets chilly for us out here, I bring these cozy throws out. Since the throws are ivory, they don’t stay out because the animals would never leave the porch 🙂 Have you ever seen a chicken, goat, or duck cuddle in a cozy throw….on a rocker?
I was waiting to get pumpkins at our local pumpkin patch over fall break and then got a notification that they weren’t getting pumpkins this year due to a truck driver shortage. What!!! I was gonna call it a day, but the porch just didn’t feel right without a few pumpkins. Luckily Publix trucks were rolling in for deliveries. Pumpkins never go to waste around the farm and serve two purposes, decorating and treats. Most of the animals love to eat them.
Over on the side porch entrance, I hung an old wreath that I used years ago, actually back in 2014. Sans the Owl. I always try to replicate the look so it all flows when you look at the front of the house.
Now that I have my pumpkins, I can call it done by sitting back and enjoying my favorite season. Hope you will too!
Grateful
for family visits…
