Teen Girl Art Space
Teen Girl Art Space with its pink and white wall color and space for a lot of creativity and fun.
Since Lily is quite an aspiring artist, it was important to give her a space big enough to do her art. A place where she can express her creativity through her paints, pencils, and all things an artist loves.
It was a no-brainer to turn the rather small but darling guest bedroom into her art room. The space was originally designed for my husband’s office but we moved him to a new space above our garage years ago. You can see that space here. Here is a picture of the guest bedroom before it became an art room. Cute, right?
She loves color so she picked SW bubblegum pink since it matched her oversized bean bag. You can see more pretty colors we used in her bedroom here. Originally the plan was to just paint the ceiling and keep the white on the walls. When I was just about finished, Lily didn’t think it was enough color so I reversed the plan and did pink on the walls and white on the ceiling. My girl wanted color and she got it!
This room gets so much light and has a great view out back….lucky gal. The room is tight but we managed to get an art table, a hanging swing, and a small table for her computer.
To provide just a bit more room we replaced the door with a sliding glass door instead. That really helped to open up the space. I’ll be sharing more detail on how we retrofitted the door and all the hardware in a later post.
More sweet room details
I’ve had this rug forever and it was a good match, but I’m thinking about switching it up and getting something more abstract and fun like this one.
I hope Lily’s teen girl art space inspires you to introduce a bold color or create some beautiful art in your own home.
