Mid Week Catch up at Duke Manor Farm
Mid-week catch-up at Duke Manor Farm including Spring Break trip, new project and an update on the farm.
Happy hump day! I hope you are all having a great week.
Spring Break Trip
I was able to put the kids in the car and head down south to visit my family for Spring break. We had such a wonderful time visiting with my mom and my siblings. The weather was absolutely amazing (no humidity) and it made our beach days spectacular! Before I showed up, I self-tanned with this awesome all-natural tanning mousse…. so I wouldn’t scare the fish away. In addition to hanging out at the beach ( sporting this cute bathing suit), I took the kids to an animal sanctuary called Lion Country Safari in Palm Beach County. Think of a very scaled-down version of Animal Kingdom at Disney World.
You basically drive through the safari in your vehicle for an hour and then you can get out of the car to see some of the attractions. This guy came to the car window to say hello…… The entire time I was like please don’t scratch the paint on the expedition! I’ll share more about this attraction in a later post, just in case you are ever in the area looking for something to do.
Latest Outdoor Project
Of course, I wasn’t even fully unpacked before I jumped into my latest outdoor project. A corner in the back of the house was in desperate need of some TLC. I am trying to get it finished before summer shows up and the kids are out of school, which is in 5 weeks. I’ll be sharing this project with you so you can see the transformation for yourself. Here’s a glimpse of the area that I am working on. You can see more of my backyard and pool area in these posts.
Farm Life
I witnessed something the other day for the first time ever, my male goats got castrated. I’ll spare most of the details but it’s something that we needed to do and quickly. Goats reproduce ALOT. The intent all along with having the goats was to raise and sell them. Somewhere along the line my daughter became too attached and considered them family pets. I should have known better. I finally agreed to slow up the sale process only if we did not increase our goat population.
If you ever want goats, call me first. You can thank me later. Thanks for dropping by for the mid week catch-up at Duke Manor Farm.
Enjoy the rest of the week!
Grateful
for time with my kiddos
