How to fill a big blank wall with wood
How to fill a big blank wall with wood using horizontal planks and dark paint for contrast.
I love this end-of-the-week post where I dust off an old post that I hope will inspire some of you with your own projects and ideas. Remember when this wall in my Family room turned Dining area used to look like this…… The backstory goes something like this, we moved the family room to the converted sunroom which was actually built originally as a screen porch and turned this space into the dining room. The formal dining room became the Piano room. Got all that? You can read all about the switcheroo here.
and then I took off the upper shelves, planked with wood, and painted the wall in Iron Ore. I used the shelves and turned them into shoe cubbies.
and it turned out like this. With this design, I was able to somewhat camouflage our mini-split on the wall. A story for another day. You can see the full post and what we did here.
Today’s Home & Decor Encore post ( oldies but goodies from the past) is all about how to fill a big blank wall. Hope it provides some inspiration for your own space at home. Don’t forget to check out the other posts from the encore team.
