7 Decor ideas for your Spring Home
7 decor ideas for your spring home that will help usher in the season using bright and fresh colors that will complement your current decor
My house decor lately is holding on to winter throws and slowly incorporating Spring pastel-colored pillows. It may look as confused as the weather has been lately around here. Cold temps and sweaters one day, and shorts and flip-flops the next. Soon enough though, it will be time to fully transition into my favorite season of the year. I always look at this time of the year as a way to introduce fresh and bright seasonal colors into my Spring home decor, complementing items I already have. Welcome to another Cozy Living Series. I am joining my Cozy Living pals who are sharing more creative and inspirational ideas to create a cozy home. All the links will be at the end of this post. Special thanks to Jennifer from Town and Country Living who hosts this series each month. Click here to see all my previous cozy living posts.
7 Decor ideas for your Spring Home
- Incorporate greenery around your home inside and out
One of the first things I do after the chilly days of winter are over, is to fill the planters on the porch with Kimberly Queen Ferns. They are just about the easiest fern you can grow….in my experience. I get so excited to see the abundance of green from the ferns or any other plant when a lot of other things are still brown and asleep from winter. These ferns will last Spring until the first frost in fall. Inside the house, maidenhair ferns are a favorite.
- Greet your guests with a pretty wreath
Instead of a traditional faux wreath, why not hang a live wreath on your door this Spring? I love this wreath so much because I can move the plants to my garden when things are starting to overgrow in the basket. Get all the details here.
- Incorporate spring pastel colors
Incorporate spring pastel colors into your everyday decor. No sense changing everything in your home for the new season. Using your existing pillows, throws, or accessories, pair with complementary colors in pastel shades. I used this pink accent pillow with the navy to complement my current color scheme here in my family room.
Or when I paired green accents with my existing blue and gray color scheme in the screen porch for an instant dose of Spring. See more of my Springtime porch here.
- Bring the outdoors….indoors
Create nests with mini grapevine wreaths and fill with moss-covered and faux eggs and place them around the house as I did here.
- Create something pretty
Create a beautiful Spring centerpiece incorporating natural materials. For this centerpiece, I used a grapevine wreath as a base, clippings, and flowers from the yard, and real eggs from the coop. You can also check out some of my other favorite centerpiece ideas here that I made using items from around the house.
- Display items you love with a touch of Spring
Group your favorite items such as candles, easter eggs, and pretty flowers on trays for a beautiful Spring display. Take faux eggs and put them in pretty bowls and place them around the house.
- Refresh your bedding
Swap out or introduce new bedding for a fresh and brighter look. For new seasons, I like to add a different color either in the pillows, sheets, or comforter on my bed. For an additional pop of seasonal color add some fresh flowers or candles on the nightstand. You would be surprised how one or two items can instantly usher in the Spring season into your home.
I hope some of my decor ideas help to create a fresh and happy spring home for you as well.

Everything is just beautiful. I’ve swapped our home over to blues and greens for sprint also. I’m still waiting for it to get warm enough here to do a little refresh on the porch. We’re still having frosty nights but in the 40’s and one day of 50 here during the day. I’ve never heard of that type of fern, it looks just like the ones I get here but they’re called Boston Fern. I agree ferns are so easy to take care of, they don’t even mind if I go days without watering them. I enjoyed all your pretty pics and ideas today my friend. Happy soon to be Spring:)
Love your simple spring touches. So perfect!
So I never thought to use a small grapevine wreath as a bird’s nest. Very clever! Love all your spring ideas – and I always love seeing your porch!
Loving your Spring touches Laura, it’s always so nice to switch over to this season, isn’t it?
