Fun festive holiday candy station
Create a fun, festive holiday candy station using a bar cart, paper chain, and nutcrackers.
The catalyst for my pops of color holiday home tour this year was not only using every colorful ornament and nutcracker that I had in my stash but this fun paper chain that I picked up earlier in the season at Hobby Lobby. The paper chain immediately threw me back into my childhood when we would make them for our own family tree.
Fun festive holiday candy station
Since my decor is all about creating a cozy and comfortable home for my family, I repurposed a bar cart that I had into a candy station. We all appreciate candy around here so it made complete sense. It sits next to the built-in cabinet in the eating area of the kitchen so it’s centrally located…..which, is not always such a good thing, especially when it comes to me and chocolate. The funny thing about chocolate, it says hello each and every time I walk by.
In addition to my family’s favorite candy that I placed in various glass jars, I placed a few nutcrackers on the cart to protect it all. On the bottom of the cart, I filled a tray with some small bottle brush trees and a blue tree to match the nutcracker. I also love how it picks up the blue in the chain garland.
Nothing elaborate or fancy. Just one skittle or Hersey kiss at a time to bring a little bit more joy during the holiday season.

Love your barcart. Such happy colors and all those goodies would be calling my name all day. What a fun idea.
Oh my gosh! How fun!!! I love all of the colour and sparkle you’ve worked into this little corner!
So festive! Merry Christmas to you and your family xx
Okay, that bar cart of candy is seriously dangerous!!! I think I gained five pounds just oogling that cannister of Kisses! LOL! So lovely and colorful and festive! 🙂 Linda
Such a clever idea, Laura! This would be any child’s dream at Christmas. Well, it would be everyone’s dream. Love the fun color you’re using this year!
Oh my goodness Laura, I adore your colourful Christmas this year! I remember making this garland as a kiddo, so much fun! It’s perfect on your amazing bar cart with all of those yummy goodies! The nutcrackers are the best finishing touch too, I love every detail!
thanks Laurie!
This is just adorable and makes me happy just looking at all the fun bright colors. I remember making paper chains while on Christmas vacation from school as a kid and hanging them all over the house. Great memories! Here’s how I get along with chocolate; if you only have a small piece every time you pass by the jar the calories don’t count. It’s when you eat the entire jar in one sitting that they add up, at least that’s what I tell myself, LOL. Merry Christmas.
