Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 11
Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 11 includes some healthy supplements I have been taking, new projects, and things that are on repeat around Duke Manor Farm lately
I am calling myself out today for being the biggest slacker. I realize the last time we caught up here was weeks ago and not sure how that happened. My kids are back to school, I am back to work here on the blog and things are running on cruise control…for now. The kids have been back to school since July 31st and everything is going well. I am staying hopeful and optimistic that they can stay in a face to face learning environment for as long as they can while staying healthy and safe. How are things going in your area?
What I am working on
The last project that I completed….and love was Lily’s bedroom makeover. Although that project went a bit slower due to internment summertime fun, this next project won’t. My master bedroom and master bath. It’s been a long time overdue, particularly the bathroom that I haven’t really paid much attention to for 18 years. Both rooms will get a refresh….on a budget. I’ll share more of my detailed plans later this week. Here’s a side by side of the bathroom. The left is what it looked like when we first moved in 18 years ago. The right is the current state of affairs.
Trying to be healthy
You know we are big fans of Apple Cider Vinegar and the health benefits it has. I recently switched to these tablets since the liquid form and gummies were not pleasant for me. My hubby still takes his twice daily swig of the stuff ( I gag) and has not had to go back on blood pressure or cholesterol meds for years. Something else that I have been using for a few months is a new Collagen powder. The previous one left a smell in my hot tea that I couldn’t get past. This one is odorless and can’t taste a thing except for my french vanilla creamer when I use it in my tea.
We can’t get enough of lately…cake and games
This homemade frosting NEVER disappoints regardless of what type of cake I make. I shared this recipe a while back and can’t believe I bought frosting in a can for as long as I did. I made this chocolate cake yesterday and it was a hit. While we are eating cake we are playing this game ALOT. Rummikub has actually been on repeat all summer and we all enjoy playing it. Think of rummy the card game ( sets and runs) but instead of cards it’s tiles. I love this game because you can play with 2 people or have fun with the whole family.
My heart is just broken for a dear sweet friend that I met 12 years ago when I first started blogging. Marty from A Stroll Through Life lost her beloved husband of 36 years to Covid-19. She too is currently recovering from the virus. I hope you will keep Marty and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
I am also praying for your health and safety. Have a great week!
