Welcome to my Joys of summer around Duke Manor Farm tour. We love the outdoors
I prefer to take a simpler route when it comes to decorating our indoor and outdoor spaces. Over the years functionality has taken a higher priority than the aesthetics of a room….although I still love a pretty space.  Every since being on lockdown in March, being outdoors brings me so much joy. From drinking a hot tea during an early morning sunrise to cocktails with my hubby watching beautiful sunsets we are treasuring this time….and our spaces at home. I have really appreciated disconnecting from the distractions indoors and enjoying special moments outdoors.
It’s no secret we bought this land to do just that. If you are new here Duke Manor Farm sits on 25 acres in a small town in Northeast Georgia. The front part of the property is pasture land and behind the house is wooded with a small lake ( 5o acres) and creek. Our farm is filled with chickens, ducks, goats, horses, rabbits, cats dogs and kids. Just the way we like it!

I think the full investment of our pool that we put in a few years ago has finally paid off! The kids have been swimming for weeks….and aren’t bored yet! 🙂 It was important when we designed and installed our landscape and pool ( we did all the landscape ourselves) that it mirrored the natural surroundings on our property. We are still tweaking here and there but overall are so thrilled how this space looks and is maturing each year.
Pool and Backyard Pond
Since the pool is not right next to the house, down the road we hope to install a small pool house with changing areas and a bathroom. We will also be creating a permanent structure for shade as the pool get’s very sunny throughout the afternoon. For now, I picked up these blue and white striped umbrellas to do the job. They were so reasonable I got 5 of them. I use these umbrella bases. All the pillows you see are ones’ that I have gotten here over the years. I must say they have held up so well for being outside 6-8 months of the year. IÂ spray my outdoor cushions, umbrellas, and pillows with a fabric protectant to help with fading. It definitely helps.
The above picture pretty much sums up how my kids are going to spend their summer!

Beautiful job! You mentioned fabric protectant for fading. What do you use please? I have been looking for a product to prevent fading but have only found water protection.
