Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 4
Duke Manor Farm Notables Vol 4 catching up on the latest project done, project I started and newest member of the funny farm.
Welcome to the weekend! Hope everyone had a lovely week . Last weekend at this time we were watching a surprise snowstorm out the window, today the sun is shining,it’s cold….but no snow. My kids are out of school for winter break this week (first time I can remember that we have an entire week) and since I have been sick the last couple of breaks ( Thanksgiving and Christmas) I tend to thoroughly enjoy this one ….without the crud!
I started the morning off sitting here, enjoying a cup of hot tea and reading this book. The book has a different saying or short story for each day. Here was today’s

By the way, that table is one of the first furniture makeovers I shared on the blog. You can see how it looked here when I first picked it up at a yard sale.
Project in progress
I am painting the downstairs halls and den. I am going darker on the bottom ( Web Gray from SW) and Pure White on top (Behr). I am hoping to replace my 18 year old flooring in the next few months, so I am thinking ahead and getting this done now.
Project almost done
With just a few small things to do in our breezeway ( aka mudroom) before I can officially cross it off the list. I want to change the frame color of this print to something other than white and line the custom shoe cabinet shelves (so it’s easier to clean) that my hubby made. I am using this contact paper. Very soon I will show you the entire space and how we made the cabinet. Over the last 18 years in my home, I have changed this room a lot. Here are some of the changes through the years and this being the most recent change.
Newest members to join the Farm
Over the Christmas break we welcomed three new goats to the funny farm. We did this so ‘Jack’ you know the one that followed my hubby home from a jog one day, would have some friends. This is the baby of the bunch, Luna Belle. She is a fainting goat and is just the cutest. Oh, we also welcomed 3 baby bunnies.
Favorite quote of the week
I thought this was funny since my kids have a bad habit of saying “Mom are you up” when I AM SLEEPING….which is not at all funny. On that note, I am going to take a nap.

Have a great weekend!

Oh I want that book! And loving the dark on the bottom 🙌🏼
Love the grey, as well as the beautiful piece of artwork with the blues/grey/white. I am finally, after 2 years of procrastinating, doing a mid-winter project of painting the base of a hutch that we have owned for many years. We eliminated the top portion because it was looking too colonial and not the transitional look we now have. I have a big list of spring and summer projects so I better bring this winter project to a conclusion!
Love the hall and the goat is adoreable.
Laura, we are grateful for you! You always bring us such interesting posts. Love the paint job on the hallway. You are such a worker! Little Luna Belle is adorable! I bet your daughter just loves the new little bunnies!
Don’t work too hard! Enjoy Spring Break with your children!
Oh my GOSH…. Brawn would be in heaven if we had a fainting goat. Are they as hysterical as the videos? You need to make a funny farm video, featuring Luna Belle!!!!
All the things are really awesome, and that bad habit is really not so funny, my dad is doing to me like this when i’m sleeping. LOL . Thanks for the share dear.
