Fall decor color options
Color Combinations to inspire your fall decorating this season. Fall decor color options that you may not have thought about putting together.
When it comes to decorating seasonal, I always start with a few basic questions.
- What’s my inspiration
- What colors do I like for the season
- What decor items do I already have?
The answers to the questions generally give me enough guidance to put a plan together. This year’s fall decor inside the house was inspired by a pretty plum botanical print. From there I put the house together using what I had and things that I’ll enjoy looking at throughout the Fall season.
I wanted to share some other fall decor color combinations that may inspire you as you think about your Fall decorating.
Fall decor color to inspire your fall decorating
Navy and Orange
I really like the navy and rust/orange combination. I found the plaid material and created the inspiration from there. You can see the entire porch here. I made a few pillows, covered the seat, and added some rust pillows to complete the fall look. We have since added the rockers to the porch, but I do miss having the furniture to sit on.
Mustard Yellow
It’s no wonder mustard yellow continues to make repeat performances year after year around here. I love that it goes with everything. In fact, most of the pillows used a few years ago on the screen porch are one’s that I used in this year’s family room. The only difference is I replaced the blue for plum. You can’t go wrong with throwing in this color with a lot of different color combinations.
Traditional Orange
You can’t keep this gal away from using traditional orange in her fall decor. This year I decided to go all orange…and orange on the front porch. To pull off one consistent color in your decor, make sure you bring in other textures and patterns to break it all up. This way it won’t look so flat and will give the space some visual interest.
Blue
Although I am all about traditional colors on the porch, I was crushing on the blue that I used on the front porch a few years back. The blue came back for a second year, this time in the navy. The softness of the blues, especially the lighter ones, coupled with the wheat grass and white pumpkins made me look at ushering in Fall outside of my color comfort zone. You can see both looks here.
Orange and Gray
It’s no surprise how gray pairs with any color…including orange. This color combo on the front porch was inspired by the plaid tablecloth that I found at Homegoods and sewed into a few pillows. The addition of the gray pillows and throws helps to complete the look.
Whether it’s a full-blown pumpkin army that you put out or just a change-up of a few pillows, remember to do what makes you happy and something that makes you smile throughout the Fall season.
