Easy 3 Step DIY Dog Bed
Easy 3 Step DIY Dog Bed that you can make with unused items from around the house
As you know, we have no shortage of critters around here at Duke Manor Farm, particularly ones that like to eat well and sleep well. In fact, I think some of our animals get a better night’s sleep than me. Today I want to share an easy project that helps to keep our dogs comfortable.
Easy 3 Step DIY Dog Bed
Let’s talk about why my dogs are cozy and comfy. They love a good dog bed. Sadly, I don’t love the prices of a good dog bed, so I make my own. With just a few steps and some unused items, you can make one too.
For this dog bed, I am using a small blanket (with two sides) and a king-size pillow.
What you do:
I put together a visual tutorial, although it is so easy to make. Basically …..cut your blanket, stuff your pillow , and sew together.
- This dog bed works with a small throw that has two sides to it. This throw was 28 x 40 inches. A king pillow is 20 x 36, so it was a great fit and didn’t require any other modifications.
- Cut a straight line big enough to stuff your pillow into.
- Stuff your pillow into the throw.
- Sew up the opening. You can either manually sew it up or place on a sewing machine using a simple straight stitch. For the non-sewer, you can use fabric adhesive and Velcro to enclose the opening.
Rosie Sunshine is super comfy on her bed….. but man does she need a haircut!
I hope my tips on good food and cozy easy bedding will help to inspire you with the dogs in your life.
