Easy 2 minute Mug Cakes
Easy 2 minute Mug Cakes that taste so good and are a great dessert idea if you are short on time
My kids love it when I make them a ‘special’ treat. Yes, the thought of anything in a ramekin is special to them. I love it when those special treats are easy to make, don’t require a lot of fuss and can generally be put together with things from my pantry. These easy 2 minute mug cakes fit right into that category. Welcome to this months Cozy Living series where me and my pals share creative and inspirational ideas to create a cozy home. Yes, food most definitely is instrumental in creating a cozy home….right? All the links will be at the end of this post. Special thanks for my pal Jennifer from Town and Country Living who hosts this series each month. You can click here to see more of my cozy living posts.
Easy 2 minute Mug Cakes
This recipe is so incredibly easy and tastes amazing. You only need a few items, a mug or a ramekin to create these delicious mug cakes.
Ingredients to make 2 chocolate mug cakes ( half ingredients if you are only making one mug cake)
- 3 tbs chocolate chips
- 1 tbs of heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbs of butter
- 1 tbs of milk
- 3 tbs of flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 of baking powder
- 2 tbs of sugar
What you do
In a bowl melt the chocolate chips and butter in the microwave until melted ( about 45 seconds) Stir in egg ( beaten) milk, heavy cream, flour, sugar, and baking powder into melted chocolate mixture. You can either layer the chocolate and cake mixture or stir them both together Heat in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Don’t overcook or the cake will be dry.
I like to top it off with some whipped cream or ice cream. If I top with ice cream, I will use a mug so there is no run off when the ice cream melts. You can also top with powdered sugar, nuts, a cookie or some lips….for a cute valentines treat.
I hope the next time when that sweet tooth is calling out, that you’ll consider making my easy 2 minute mug cake.
