Holiday Randomness from Duke Manor Farm
Holiday Randomness from Duke Manor Farm.
It’s been a week since I have sat at my computer….I have missed you, but it was so nice to take a break and really enjoy the holidays without working. My mom was here from Florida with us and it was such a nice way to celebrate the holidays…at home. The last couple of years we have traveled to Florida to be with my family but this year we decided to stay home. Being able to stay in your jammies all day is a gift in itself.

This year was extra special to have my mom here for Christmas because a few weeks ago her doctor told her that she is currently in remission from her lung cancer. How awesome is that! She will continue her chemo treatments until the end of January and then checks and scans every 3 months. Thank you to all that pray for her and thought about her….it worked! My mom’s greatest joy is her grandchildren.
I took the trees and most of the decorations down yesterday….only cause it was raining out and I didn’t want to eat one more cookie while watching mindless tv. I did keep a few things up so things would still be a bit festive around here. Can’t go cold turkey quite yet and get rid of all the holiday decor. Speaking of tv, have you watched the series on Bravo called Dirty John? It’s based on a true story about a con man. Watch it….it’s that good.
So I’d say Santa was pretty good to the kids this year, and to mom. I don’t want to brag….but I got a new vacuum. Woo hoo. Seriously for the money you can’t pass this one up. The suction and the handheld feature is amazing.
Here’s a few other things that Santa left for me that I wanted to pass along:
I bought some pillows and a throw with a gift card. The throw is majorly on sale and I love the vintage look of the pillows..
Boring but essential….slippers. I have a condition called Raynauds, so keeping my feet warm in the winter time is a must. I also have these slippers in tan.
This 2019 planner to keep me organized in the new year and this knit beanie hat to keep my head warm… it’s too cute.
I’ll be laying low until after New Years, probably vacuuming, but I wanted to wish all you a very Happy New Year. Thanks for being so good to me here at Duke Manor Farm. Hugs and Love to you all.
