Create a festive holiday arrangement using grocery store flowers
Create a festive holiday arrangement using grocery store flowers in just a few easy steps.
I’m joining a few of my favorite pals in my Decor Enthusiast group to share how we used grocery store flowers in our holiday home this season. The links to 4 other amazing holiday ideas will be at the bottom of this post. They are all so talented so you don’t want to miss any of it!
Create a festive holiday arrangement using grocery store flowers
I love to add beautiful flowers around the house especially this time of the year when everything looks so drab with not a lot of color outside. I wanted to do something for our breakfast area since I didn’t have anything on the table. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my local grocery store for some flowers to do this post, and found some red roses on clearance. I never pass up a chance to get some pretty flowers. Always, always look for the flowers they are trying to get rid of to make room for new stuff. If your not sure, ask. Clearance priced flowers does not mean anything is necessarily wrong with them….just ask my roses.
Easy to create arrangement
This festive arrangement was so simple to assemble that I almost feel silly sharing. But I thought you would want to know my secret tip so you can make one for your own holiday table.
I started with a piece of garland that I basically shaped into a circle. I just twisted the ends of the garland to secure together. This garland looks so realistic, doesn’t it?
Then I cut my roses long enough that just the flower was sticking out of the jar. I also added some fresh evergreen to each jar along with some water. I used old spice jars but small candle holders like these would work as well.
Next, I tucked the spice jars randomly around the garland wrapping the stems around the jars. The idea is to conceal the glass jar as much as you can.
So when everything is fluffed and position you would think that the roses are just floating in the garland….and not sitting in a small jar with water.
An arrangement that will last all season
Sadly the roses won’t last but that won’t stop me from enjoying the arrangement all season. I will simply replace the roses for another flower…that hopefully is on clearance again. For added interest I placed some candle holders in the middle. You can read how I transformed them from clear glass into gold here.

I hope this idea may inspire you to create something pretty for your own table this holiday season.
Happy Holidays!

Beautiful, Laura! The roses really do look like they’re floating in the greenery! XOXO
Just beautiful Laura!! 🙂 xo
thanks nancy!
Laura,
Your home is just so warm and inviting . Don’t you just love a great deal. I love how you can easily change out the flowers during the holidays as needed. The greenery does a great job of hiding the jars, but they are pretty seen as well. So festive!
ahh…thank you. you need to come visit!
Looks gorgeous Laura! Just proves you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have something turn out beautifully!
