My Five Favorites for October
My Five Favorites for October. Includes essentials to get your ready for Fall.
I am thrilled be be joining a group of other fall loving bloggers to share my five favorites for October. Special thanks for Lisa at Shine Your Light for inviting me to chime in on a few of my own favorite things that I am embracing in October. The links for the group will be at the end of this post.
If you have been following Duke Manor Farm, you know my love for Fall….and everything that comes along with it. The chill, the color, the smells. Today’s favorites are all about that. In my Fall Home Tour you saw my laid back approach and appreciation for the “other things” that surround us and that’s exactly what I intend to do every day this season. Hope you will too. If you are new to Duke Manor Farm learn more about me here.
My Five Favorites for October
#1 Denim Jacket
My favorite staple in my closet is my favorite Denim Jacket. As soon as it starts to feel like Fall temps outside, the jacket becomes part of my daily uniform. I pair it with shorts, sweats, pants, skirts and dresses. Which is just about anything. Although my denim jacket and swimsuit is a no go.
#2 Fall scented candles
There probably aren’t to many days during the Fall season that I am not burning a deliciously fall scented candle. Usually I am a creature of habit with my smells like these favorites here and here but recently got a few new to me scents like Cranberry Woods and Thankful. Oh my goodness. So good!
#3 A Good Book
If your a Southern Gal or just like a great read, you must pick up Whiskey in a Teacup. Have you read it? I’m confident that Reese and I should be besties. I must admit it’s hard to get me to sit still, but a good book and some whiskey hot tea will get the job done especially during the fall months and shorter days. Some other books I ordered and will be reading once they get delivered are Cozy Minimalist Home and Next Level Thinking. Got any good recommendations? I’m a non-fiction, self help kinda reader.
#4 New Mug
What better time then October to pick up a new mug for the hot tea on those chilly days. Although not colorful or heavily decorated, I loved the saying on this mug that I picked up the other day at Home Goods. Here is a similar mug that I found.
#5 Chunky Throws and pillows
My denim jacket keeps me cozy outside and a good chunky throw and pillow keeps me cozy indoors. I like to rotate pillows and throws each season to make things look fresh and new again. I love how just changing out a pillow or two and replacing a light weight throw for a heavier one can instantly usher in the fall season. Here are a few of my favorite throws and pillows for the season.

I love Cider Lane, Sweater Weather , Leaves, Winter and Creamy Nutmeg. I am a hoarder when they’re on sale. I burn candles like crazy.
