What a wonderful surprise
When we walked our property 17 years, we had no idea that this lake was on the land. It was covered with overgrown scrub, trees and bushes. After years of work, clearing, cutting and maintaining it’s a calm and peaceful sight.

Would you believe this is the kitchen of a hotel! You can take the full tour here
Amazing reveal
This is such a gorgeous butlers pantry reveal .
It was worth every penny
I can’t begin to tell you how much time my family is enjoying the pool this summer. Although it broke the budget, the timing in our lives was just perfect. The kids are all good swimmers, it distracts them from technology and it’s something we can all do together. Quite frankly, it has also helped us to slow down and enjoy life. Stuff.Can.Wait.
Gorgeous Farmhouse….after
I did manage to head to my good pals house this week and take a few exterior shots of her recently renovated house. I can not wait to show you the before and afters. After two years of patience and hard work, their labor of love is demonstrated in their beautiful home.

Summer blooms are in full force this week over at Duke Manor Farm. Luckily the June beetles have stayed off my crepe myrtles this season and I have pink, purple and white pops of color filling up the view around the property. My begonias are showing no signs of slowing down either. All the rain we have had this summer has done wonders for all the landscape and pastures.
I am heading to the lake house in Tennessee this weekend with the kids as well as Charleston for a bloggers conference at the end of the week. Be sure to follow me here and here for the latest on my adventures.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks happenings weekend edition. You can catch up on my most recent happenings here, here and here. Have a wonderful weekend!
