Happenings at Duke Manor Farm Weekend Edition
Happy weekend! Welcome to Happenings at Duke Manor Farm weekend edition. Hope you had a lovely week and enjoying the summer season this far. We are still in slow mo over here at Duke Manor Farm. With a lot of afternoon rain this week and one day being a complete wash out, it wasn’t that difficult to stay on task. Speaking of weather, hows the weather in your neck of the woods?
Happenings at Duke Manor Farm Weekend Edition
Our newest addition is 7 weeks old and cute as can be. Did I tell you what the kids ended up naming her? In honor of my son’s favorite snack…..Cheese-it. Nope, not kidding. As soon as she is a bit bigger she will be joining the other farm cats around the property.
Projects around Duke Manor Farm
As I mentioned a lot of projects and stuff have come to a halt over the summer while the kids are out of school. We did manage though to completely enclose the perimeter of the chicken coop area. One of the last things to do was to make a cute door for the entrance. During the week I painted it and added some hardware. I’ll show you the complete area ….once summer is over.
Recent purchases
During one of the rainstorms I did a bit of on-line shopping. I wanted to add a bit of color to my family room and bought this print from Minted. I don’t have much red in the house so this was a nice way to bring it into the space without feeling overwhelming. As soon as the rest of the blinds are hung up, I will share the full reveal of one of out favorite spaces in the house.
I bought this super cute blouse . It’s on sale and comes in multiple colors. I went with my signature black although the blush was hard to pass up.
Backyard pond transformation
How’s this for a fun transformation….a year later.
I know right? We are still making small tweaks to the landscape and to the boulders. You can see more about how we created this space here.
Other stuff
I’m taking notes from this kitchen for some changes I want to make to mine.
I’m heading to Charleston, SC for a Home and DIY blogging conference in mid July. I will actually be serving as a mentor this year. If you love decor, design and DIY projects check out the details for the Haven conference here.
If you have ever felt excluded or rejected…read this.
With the 4th of July celebrations this week thought you may be interested in making my favorite apple cobbler recipe. It’s that good!

Laura, your little “Cheese-It” is so cute! She has such pretty markings on her! Are you sure you don’t want to keep her inside? She would be so happy with all of you!
You did good with your shopping! That black top is lovely! I also love black and buy a lot of clothing in this color!
Have an amazing week-end, Laura!

The Minted print is so pretty, and your backyard pond transformation stuns me every time I see it. Love lil Cheese-it, what a sweet face.
