Happenings around Duke Manor Farm
Happenings around Duke Manor Farm
I must admit the summer months have me in slow motion….which is exactly how it want it. The blog will be slowing down to a crawl over the next 6 weeks until my kiddos head back to school. They have been out since May 18th. Every week I’ll pop in for happenings and if something earth shattering is going on. I’ll also be posting some seasonal and summery ideas from the past that you may have not seen.
More Chickens
I hope all the dad’s enjoyed Fathers Day. We spent all day celebrating around here with pool time and some chicken fights. Yes, the chickens made it into the pool. How fun are these! These chickens however don’t poop all over and make a mess. I got them here. They come 2 to a pack and the idea is to tip the other person over. You can follow me here and see a video in my stories of how fun they are. We all had a blast!
Pond maintenance
We have been slowly make some minor tweaks ( water flow and moving landscaping) around the pond area. It’s been a year since we revamped it and added the water basins. This part of our backyard is such a favorite spot for us. You can see more of our favorite area here.
Here’s a view walking from the screen porch and the backside of the pond area.
What I’m reading
With a strong desire to have more balance in my life I picked up this book a couple of weeks ago. Although just getting into it, I love the reflection and messages that the book is delivering.
Summer Home Tour
I shared my Summer Tour here along with a full line up of 30 other summery homes. I would love for you to stop by and visit.
My naked porch
The porch at Duke Manor Farm has never felt more naked….ever! A few weeks ago I felt the urge to get out there pressure wash, clean windows and remove the furniture. The furniture made it’s way to the back patio off the kitchen. My intent is to buy a few of the these. I’m leaning towards white but not 100% sure. What do you think?
When I do decide, at least the porch will be ready. I just hope the chairs come fully assembled or they may just have to wait till summer’s over!
I hope you are enjoying the summer season.
grateful
for my kids to have such an amazing father
