Using Pink Accents on the Summer Porch
Using Pink Accents on the Summer Porch for a fun punch of color all season long.
Welcome to Day 2 of Summer Colors Tour. You can catch up on Day 1 and all the color fun here. All week you will be inspired by pops of color that 30+ bloggers will be sharing with you. If you are coming from Rhoda’s at Southern Hospitality, welcome to Duke Manor Farm! Special thanks to Jennifer at Town and Country Living for hosting this Summer Colors Home Tour. I will have today’s line-up and links at the end of this post as well as the full schedule for the week.
Using Pink Accents on the Summer Porch
I’m excited to share one of my favorite rooms in the house, our screened porch. We are approaching the year mark since we actually finished this space. You can catch the before here. If you know anything about Georgia mosquitoes in the summer, they are no joke. After living in our home for 15 years with no screen porch this room was truly a gift, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the last year in the space.
Other then a few changes, the room looks similar to when I did the reveal here. A year ago, my go to color to usher in summer in the space was pink and navy. A year later ….pink and navy. I’m still loving those colors in the space. I figured why fix something that wasn’t broken. I did get some new pink pillows from here to hangout with pillows (solid navy and blue stripe ticking) that I already had. This amazing sectional is the perfect neutral and backdrop for all my pillow changes in this room.
Changes to the space
In addition to the new pink pillows we also hung a TV and brought in some side tables that I was using in our guest house. The previous tables just didn’t jive with the space. These have a similar feel with the console table that holds beverages, baskets and pink flamingos. How cute is she? ‘She’ was a buy earlier this year at Cracker Barrel and adds just enough whimsy and pop of pink. My Lily is a huge fan of flamingos so it may make it’s way to her bedroom at some point. On the other wall is one of my favorite art pieces in the house from here.
Regardless of what color you decide to use in your home this season or anytime of the year, make sure it makes you happy and works in your space. Small and inexpensive changes like pillows, accessories and artwork can bring a whole new look to your room without a huge investment and is a great way to introduce different colors into your space throughout the year.
Thanks for stopping by and have a summer full of fun….and color!
