Get your patio ready for summer with these thrifty friendly ideas
Get your patio ready for summer with these thrifty friendly ideas without spending a lot of time or money
I’ve had a stare down with the patio right off our kitchen for the last couple of weeks. It won. Between the never ending Spring pollen and an area that needs more then fluffing pillows, I have my work cut out for me….before summer gets here. Then I look out at the outdoor area…..and wonder why I am up here anyways…… and not down there.
Since I won’t be spending more then the cost of a gallon of paint and a few pretty plants, I wanted to share some thrifty and budget friendly ideas that I have used to spruce up my outdoor spaces. I’m also joining my monthly Thrifty Style team to bring you other inspiring ideas for your home. Links will be at the bottom of this post.

One of the best outdoor ideas that I have had was recovering some old torn chaise loungers. With a little time and some outdoor fabric it is so easy to replace the torn fabric so the chairs are like new again. You can see the step by step instructions here. Moral of the story….don’t throw away your old chairs! There is hope for everything.
Speaking of chairs, this idea has also saved me a ton of money. I shared this idea last year, but it’ so good and worth repeating. Spray paint and tin foil will totally transform your old outdoor chairs. Trust me on this one.
And while we are on the subject of seating I wanted to share the best $25.00 I spent on outdoor furniture. I bought this outdoor metal couch about 6 years ago and have certainly gotten my money out of it. This is the before when I bought it ………
and after when I styled her all up one summer. You can also see more of how I have used the couch over the years here, here and here.
So there you go. Outdoor seating options that just work. I hope this inspires you to get your patio ready for summer with these thrifty friendly ideas.
