Houseplants that will instantly create a cozy home
Houseplants that will instantly create a cozy home
Welcome to another Cozy Living Series. If you missed last months, you can catch up here. Today I wanted to share houseplants that will instantly create a cozy home. I am including a few of my favorites that I have around my home at Duke Manor Farm.
Besides the obvious color and texture houseplants can add to you cozy home, houseplants also have some health benefits. Not only do they clean the air but they also boost healing and assist in breathing. Perfect reasons to have a few houseplants in your home.
Succulents
One of my favorite plants to have indoors are succulents. There is a reason I have them in many rooms in the house….they are easy. It’s the perfect plant for all the ‘less then green thumbs’ out there. If you have never made a succulent garden or arrangement, I have some easy tips here to get you started.
Boston Ferns
Boston Ferns are no strangers to us Southern gals. We Love them! As soon as I see them out at the garden shop I will pick a few up and put in the house until all signs of freezing temperatures are over. Boston Ferns add such nice texture, color and fullness to any space.

A new favorite
A plant that I picked up last summer and absolutely love is called a Bromeliad. It reminds me of a fern. It does best in a most locations that I have placed it in around the house and even outdoors on the patio. I also love the maiden fern. It’s a delicate looking plant that is hardy and easy to maintain.
A real beauty
If you’ve been around the blog for a while you know my love for Orchids. The beautiful color and the fact that they bloom forever makes this a real favorite plant to have in my home. If you are new to growing or caring for Orchids, you may want to read some of tips here. And contrary to what you may hear about Orchids, they are so easy to grow.
I hope these houseplants that will instantly create a cozy home, will inspire you to put a few around your own home. What are some of your favorite houseplants?

Your plants look great! I don’t exactly have a green thumb but I do love having them in my home. I love orchids but have killed many over the years. Right now, my orchids are the artificial type but I will probably try another real one. I do like have plants to clean the air and I have managed to keep a few easy to care for ones alive. Enjoy your weekend!

I’m so envious of your beautiful house plants! I need to give live plants another try. They really do give the home such a coziness.
Laura, like you, I’ve been adding more plants to my home for the health benefits – primarily filtering the indoor air. I love maidenhair ferns but haven’t seen any lately. One of my new favorites is creeping fig. I like how you left your windows unadorned. 🙂
I don’t do well with indoor plants. Yours look wonderful. Have a super weekend

Laura, your house plants look lovely — and so healthy! I love “real” plants but because most years we are away for 6 months in the winter, I don’t have any! In the summer we have “real” plants on our deck and enjoy them there! I especially love the ferns and the ivy. We have “wild” ferns growing in our yard, along our bush — and they survive our cold winters!
Have a great weekend!
Your plants look deliriously happy – I think I would be too with all of that beautiful light shining in. I love Orchids, but I find them very hard to grow! What are some of your secrets?!
the light helps but is brutal on my floors.
Love all the plants but really like your butterfly pillow.
i know, super cute!
