DIY Spring Floral Birds Nest Centerpiece
DIY Spring Floral Birds Nest Centerpiece
For the record, the birds around Duke Manor Farm are not creating beautiful birds nests complete with flowers….. and a golden egg. I wish. I am however sharing an easy DIY Spring Floral Birds Nest Centerpiece that I made and one that you can create for your spring table. That’s not for the birds!
The last few years I have used a grapevine wreath as a base to create easy Spring Centerpieces complete with eggs …and a bird. Albeit a mossy one, but cute just the same. You can see others I have done here and here. This year I was able to use flowers and greenery from the property as well as some blooms from the grocery to include in the centerpiece. I also had some fun and included a golden egg. Which I painted because birds around here don’t lay those either. I did tell the kids that one of the chickens actually laid it.
DIY Spring Floral Birds Nest Centerpiece
This is such an easy centerpiece to assemble regardless of your floral arrangement skills. You can be creative with your flower choice as well as any other embellishments you decide to add. I like to make my arrangements with at least 3-4 different types of flowers.
Here are the easy steps:
Find a bowl that will fit in your grapevine wreath. I used a 14 inch grapevine wreath.
Place some chicken wire or floral tape over the bowl. This will hold your flowers in an upright position. I like to use a glass bowl so that nothing shows. I also like how the chicken wire blends.
Around the base of your wreath, insert greenery stems. I used Camellia stems from my garden. The greenery around it will create fullness for your centerpiece.
Insert 3 or 4 full flower heads into the center of your arrangement. I used hydrangea blooms.
Next, begin to randomly place your second flower type around the perimeter of your arrangement. I have no idea what the pink and white flowers are that I used, but they are so pretty.
Take your third flower and fill in any bare spots. I used pink camellias.
The final step is to add any extras like the eggs and mossy bird. Gold egg optional unless of course you are lucky and that’s what your chickens lay.
I placed the centerpiece on a plate and then on top of a cake pedestal. Simple and pretty….. just like Spring. I hope my DIY Spring Floral Birds Nest Centerpiece will help inspire you make something in your Spring home this season.

This centerpiece is so pretty and your instructions are perfect. Plan on making one soon
thank you ! It sure does scream spring, ugh?
I love the idea of making the grapevine wreath into a nest. So cute. And the pedestal is the perfect way to give it extra ooomph. Thanks for sharing.
Very pretty! Looks wonderful on the stand!
This is definitely something I will do in the spring! Thanks for the idea!

Can you share where the mossy bird was purchased? Love it?
randi- ive had it for a while so i am not completely sure. hobby lobby maybe?
Pretty Laura. Wish we would just get sun in NJ. It has been cloudy and still cold. Had snowstorm Saturday. We get tired of it by February. A depressing month here. I tend to get like this by now. At least I have been very busy making things for my shop

this weather is proving to be cra-cra. this week we are in the mid to high 70’s. so reluctant to get a lot of spring planting done for fear of more cold blasts.
So pretty, Laura! Such a perfect Spring table. xo
thanks Jen
Laura, your Spring floral bird’s nest is so cute! I love it! I am definitely going to make one for our table! I have everything except the cute little mossy bird and the fresh flowers in our yard! Our yard is still full of snow — and we had more today! However, I can find some lovely flowers at Costco and our grocery store! Such a nice idea! Thanks, so much!
Enjoy your week! Blessings!
thank you mary-ann
So very pretty and springy. xo Laura
thanks Laura!
This is absolutely gorgeous, Laura! So pretty and perfect for spring. Thanks so much for joining in on this hop!
thanks Krista, everyone’s projects are inspiring
WOW and then some, great idea using wreath for base/nest. Can’t help but feel springy looking at your creation. I have Jadeite cake stand so think will be perfect for this. Might need to wait a bit yet as it’s finally decided to act like winter here in western CO/Grand junction area. Just never know.
Happy life
