The clean kitchen fall tour
The clean kitchen fall tour
The clean kitchen fall tour starts with subtle decor
Subtle and simple touches of decor are ushering in Fall around Duke Manor Farm. And while I don’t like a cluttered feel in the kitchen, I always feel it’s important, especially for my kids, to put a few things out that say hello to a new season. Daily reminders….regardless of the season.
I recently picked this sign up. It’s good to have out anytime of the year.

My kitchen is generally always clean and tidy. The truth is nothing drives me more bonkers then having cluttered counters, dishes in the sink kinda kitchen. My kitchen has to be clean before I go to bed each night….or I wake up grumpy. Not really, but dirty dishes and stuff hanging out on the counters is not the first sight that I want to see each morning. What about you?
I am loving my recently painted blue island and butlers pantry. I still haven’t finished the front of the cabinets and really should before the two tone color grows on me. You can see what the island looked like previously here. The color is called Blustery Sky from SW.
Where are the pumpkins?
The only pumpkins that I picked up this season are these white and gold wood ones on the kitchen mantel. Believe it or not, I still have yet to see an over abundance (or any for that matter) being sold around here. We typically wait and go to our local pumpkin patch for the kids to pick out some pumpkins. I think that opens next week.
Breakfast Area
I’m getting a lot of mileage out of this wood pedestal table that I picked up at a yard sale years ago for nada, as in nothing. It’s a bit tight for my family of 5….but we like cozy. And since most of our meals during the week are at the counter anyways, it works. I always get questions about the chairs. You can read more details about them here. You can find the round rug here.
I just picked up these blue dotted napkins and gold napkin rings from here. The napkins also come in taupe and in black. I love how I can dress up or dress down a table with some pretty napkins with my everyday white dishes. Which by the way probably have seen better days. I have had the same set for several years. Around here, a bowl or plate can not be fully appreciated unless it has a chip or crack in it.
Around the middle of fall this is one of the best places to sit and enjoy a meal, a hot tea or a good puzzle. The color out the backyard and around the lake is just amazing.
It’s also a wonderful place to sit and count our blessings….colorful pretty trees or not.

My kitchen isn’t that clean and there is only me. SIGH!! The farm market by me is loaded down with pumpkins and gourds. I was tempted, but decided to wait. For now I just have two ceramic pumpkins. xo Laura
Love the color of the island.I’m the same with my kitchen,no dirty dishes no clutter. Hope you post a few pictures of the view out the windows.
