End of Year Classmate Gift

Okay, so my kids have been out of school for one month ( yes…I am still sane)  and I am just now getting around to share with you this end of year classmate gift that they gave to all their buddies….I thought now was a better time then waiting till school starts in T- 6 weeks. Yikes!!

I am calling this the end of year classmate gift because we gave them the last week of school, but the truth is this would make a darling gift for any school event, birthday party or just because……..because we all need those sometimes too! Am I right?
The concept of this end of year classmate gift is pretty straight forward. I filled a gift bag with loads of summery type chachkies and sugary candy…yes, I am that mother you want to hate when your kids are bouncing off the wall.  But hey, it’s gonna happen sooner or later with our without my candy contribution.

For some of the bags, I included some pretty tissue paper to coordinate with the gift bag to go along with the picnic theme they were having for their class party. I  included a personalized picture as a tag and used a clothes pin to attach to the bag. For the twins, I took a picture of them and personalized it with a message. For my older guy, I had his wonderful teachers send me a selfie and included a message.

The idea for the personalized picture and tag really originated from my personalized thank you pictures that I send out from the kids when they receive gifts throughout the year. Since most of the gifts are from out of towners, I take a picture of the kids with the gift that they received so that the sender can see how much they enjoy what they sent. It’s also a good way to see how big the kids are getting and if they want, hang the picture on the refrigerator or wherever.

I use a canon selphy photo printer, which I absolutely love. I have the Canon Selphy 910 which is an older model and harder to find because it is being discontinued by the manufacturer.. Here is the newer model. The quality of the photos is superb. I use photo postcards for the thank you’s. For the tags attached to the gift bags, I used photo paper. You buy the ink and photo paper together.
