DIY Wrist Corsage

With prom, dances, and Spring weddings in full swing, I wanted to share a quick, easy, and budget-friendly way to make your own DIY wrist corsage for your special event.

DIY Wrist Corsage

Several weeks back Lily and her Dad attended a Daughter, Father Dance. I had everything ready and planned, except for a corsage. So at the 11th hour, I made my very first corsage. I must say I didn’t do too bad of a job….. and Lily really liked it.

Step 1

Begin your DIY wrist corsage by selecting and grouping your flowers and greenery together. You can either use fresh or faux flowers for your corsage. Trim the flower stems back so you have about 3-4 inches remaining.

Step 2

Next, wrap the stems with green floral tape tightly so that they are all secure.

Step 3

If you are using any embellishments,  add them to your flowers and greenery. Secure with the green floral tape or floral ties.

Step 4

Tie coordinating ribbon around the middle of the stems. Since I used two colors of ribbon, one served as the tail (pink) and the other was tied in a bow (gray). If you don’t want a bow or hanging ribbon, you can wrap your stems with ribbon.

Step 5

Measure the wrist, cut, and sew the elastic for the base of the corsage. You want the elastic around the wrist to be snug, but not too tight. You can either sew the ends of the elastic with a sewing machine or you can hand sew the ends.

Step 6

To cover up the elastic, sew a ribbon around it. You will want to do this with a sewing machine or hand sew it securely to the elastic band. Applying Liquid stitch did not hold the ribbon to the elastic.

Step 7

To secure your flower to the elastic use either floral ties or ribbon, which is what I used. However, I think the floral ties would have held it in place a bit better as my girl danced the night away with her daddy.
