Hanging Spring Baskets
Hanging Spring Baskets….instead of a traditional wreath.
I always seem to be passing out belated wishes, so let me be the first to say happy spring….10 days early. And to celebrate, my doors and I would like to show you how we made some hanging spring baskets to usher this beautiful season in.
I am also joining my monthly challenge friends this month for Spring Wreaths. I hope you will visit all my pals for some more amazing Spring wreath inspiration. Links at the bottom of the post.
These baskets are so incredible easy to make with just a few supplies needed and is versatile enough to hang throughout the spring season….just remove the eggs and you are good to go.
What you need for the hanging spring baskets:
Wire basket- I bought at hobby lobby but I found something similar here.
a bag of spanish moss- bought at craft store
5-6 faux spring flowers- got from craft store
bird or bunny- I have had these birds for several years, but I found similar one here.
4-5 colored eggs- got at craft store
ribbon- got at craft store
glue gun
floral wire- used to secure the wreath to your door, window or wall.
What you do:
Step 1- stuff the inside of the basket with the Spanish moss
Step 2- place your floral steps in the basket, between the moss concealing the stems.
Steps 3- Place your bunny or bird in the center with your colored eggs around it. I used my glue gun to secure the eggs. When Easter has passed, just remove the eggs.
Step 4- tie a bow around the handle of your basket. I used a bit of glue to secure the ribbon on the metal handle so it would not slip.
Step 5- Tie you floral wire around the back to use when hanging your basket
