Holiday Kitchen Mantel
I must admit, I am sitting back with holiday tunes cranked, sipping a warm cocoa overflowing with whipped cream and just enjoying the season, since I went the route of simple this year with my holiday decor….just ask my holiday kitchen …..it will vouch for me.
In fact this 3rd month of the decorating your space three ways, you can see previous month here and here, was quite the breeze. So, this months challenge is more about what you can’t see, then what you can….although isn’t that sign amazing?
I took the frame from my Fall mantel here , turned the mat around and sprayed it red to coordinate with my red and simple theme this year. I purchased the sign, cause that ‘s what we still say around these parts and used it as the focal point of the mantel. The garland, red, white and black ornament balls and plaid ribbon were all part of my holiday theme last year. So that’s the stuff that you can see.
The stuff you can’t see, is the reduction of any holiday decorating stress because I went the route of simple. The additional savings from using what I had to decorate instead of buying all new. And the happiness I feel every time I look up and glance and see such a beautiful mantel.
Oh and as a bonus, less that I have to pack up and put away after Christmas. I call that more of a gift then a challenge….don’t you?

for time with my niece who is visiting this week
Simply beautiful, Laura! Elegant and perfect. 🙂
Definitely more of a gift than a challenge! I have to go through, organize and get rid of some things when I pack up this year! I adore your mantel. The pop of red (and green) against the white is just STUNNING.

That spot in your kitchen is just the perfect focal point! Love seeing all the changes through he seasons. Major crush on the plaid ribbon!
Beautiful!! You always say that you don’t clutter because it’s less to clean and I certainly know the more you decorate for a holiday or season, the more you have to put away. So…kudos to you on a colorful and festive look that says so much!!

Can you tell me where you bought the merry Christmas print?
