Tea Time Friday

Thanks for joining me for Tea time Friday. Not to sound all Debbie Downer on you, but what the heck is going on in this world? Bombs,, scandals, shootings. My heart goes out to everyone who experienced tragedy and loss this week.  It’s a scary world we live in filled with more hatred then we need and a high degree of uncertainty of what to do in trying situations . My hope is, and always will be, for peace, clarity and guidance.

Things to chat about

So I am trying to stay upbeat and optimistic despite all the doom and gloom that surrounds us and sometimes it’s hard, especially….  when you run out of your favorite creamer and have to settle for fat free half and half in your hot tea.

So, in other not so happy news and far worse then running out of my favorite creamer, my hubby was on a business trip in New Orleans this week and got robbed.  Yup, license, credit card, debit card and phone all snatched in an instant by a group of thugs. Makes me so angry, but relieved that it wasn’t a different outcome.

Talk about challenges when you are on the road traveling with no access to cash and an ID, particularly with the heightened security at the airports. Luckily he is home now, alive and well.

This was a fun outdoor couch makeover that I did a few years back.

My sister couldn’t figure out how her dog Levi kept on getting out of the fence……now she does.  This is the same dog that keeps on chewing the corner of her gorgeous sofa. Not once, twice, but three times. You  need to see this here.

Have you started decorating for Christmas yet? I did manage to put a Christmas pillow on the front porch yesterday. Woo hoo. We are making our outdoor lights this year, I can hardly wait to show you, so we started on that last weekend. I  will put my indoor holiday decorating mojo in gear this week. The day after Thanksgiving  is when the family tree goes up. Sadly, I think Halloween gets more attention then Thanksgiving. Don’t you?

I sure hope you have had a fabulous week. And despite bad stuff happening all around us, there is plenty of good stuff going on too. And for that, I am grateful. What are you grateful for?

PS- oh, did I mention that my donkey got loose, two times this week.

PPS- If you have any International French Vanilla Creamer, can you bring some over?

  1. I’m afraid to get up and turn on the t.v. each day. So much violence. Oh, that is awful that he was robbed. I’m glad he is alright. Could have been so much worse. I have not started decorating yet, but I’ll be the crazy lady on Friday pulling all my stuff out and getting started. No vanilla creamer here. 🙂

  2. Sorry about the creamer situation, and the man now posing as your husband in New Orleans, but a as far as the world of hurt going on everywhere, there has always been these things. Just keep making your spot the best you can.

  3. I thank the good Lord that your husband is safely home. What a week! I too think Thanksgiving doesn’t get enough attention. Funny thing, how humans give more time to scary things than to the One that holds everything in his hands. Glad the donkeys are back in the fence and things seemed to have calmed down. Now if we can stop calling Christmas a holiday and give God the credit due Him, we will have peace and joy.

  4. Have you ever tried Coffee Mate Italian Sweet Cream. It is heaven and I may or may not be addicted.

  5. So glad your husband is safe and sound! How scary!! No Christmas decs here yet. We fully embrace Thanksgiving, so decorating will commence next weekend! I am excited!! My darling husband brought home today a beautiful tinsel tree I had admired. Can’t decide it I want it in our bedroom (we always have a tree in the master bedroom) or dining room.
