A Fall Table Using Blue Accents
Today I am sharing a fall table using blue accents. It’s no secret that the color Orange has been quiet around Duke Manor Farm this Fall Season. My Kitchen, Porch and Sitting Room have all been evidence of that.
Not a sign of orange anywhere, except for the pumpkins outside and the Reese’s Candy Wrappers from the candy stash. Yet my home still evokes the feeling of Fall. Nothing against the color orange, just trying out less traditional colors in my Fall decor this year.
A Fall Table Using Blue Accents
Start with Inspiration
To create a fall table using blue accents, I took it a step further and threw in some brown, silver and various shades of blue. My inspiration for the table, actually came from the metal birds nest that I picked up at a local shop around here. I decided to use those at each place setting and add a little blue votive for my guests to take home with them.
Use what you have
I have had the plates and chargers for years. The plates I use everyday from Pier One, and the chargers are used for dressing up the table, mainly during the holidays. What’s great about them, is that you can mix them up with any color linens or table items and still maintain a fresh look for any season.
I used the bundle of sticks to add a more natural vibe to the table along with the boxwood. I surrounded it with some decorative balls that I spray painted in blue and brow. Next I placed them on a big white platter in the center of the table to act as a focal point. Some blue glasses, that I picked up at the Dollar Store complete the setting. I also used them here for last years Thanksgiving table.
I think the general look and feel of this table is definitely more subdued and calm. Nowadays that’s how I like my holidays (and days) to be. With less focus on the stuff on the table, and more attention on the people sitting around it.
What color are you using on your fall table this season? I hope my tips on creating a fall table using blue accents have inspired you. Maybe you will try a new color this season.

for the opportunity to gather with friends
Hi Laura, I used soft blue velvet pumpkins this year on or dining and table. I’m enjoying the use of softer colors this year for fall. I think I’m going to stick it the soft hues feel now. Goes with our décor better. Christmas is different. No way am I start over, come to think of it I don’t use strong reds either
Cindy
hi cindy. i love the softer colors for fall. I think Red is still my go to color for christmas though. I hope you had a good weekend. How’s your weather?
Pretty table setting. I love those bundled sticks. I’m still trying to figure out what my Thanksgiving tables are going to look like. Leaning towards simple and natural. So glad you are still talking fall and not Christmas. It starts earlier and earlier in blog land.
Very pretty. Blue and brown is one of my favorite color palettes no matter the season.
I am loving the colors you are using and love your philosophy of putting more emphasis on the people around the table than the table itself…. 🙂
