Tea Time Friday
I have so many things going on through the week, I decided to use Tea Time Friday to share what’s going on over at Duke Manor Farm. If you are not a tea drinking, pretend we are drinking coffee together.
I am a hot morning tea, one sugar and a splash of flavored French Vanilla creamer every morning. I stopped drinking coffee 10 years ago. How about you?
I went on a girls weekend to Boston last week with my sister and my niece. I will be sharing details about that fabulous city, where to go, what to do, where to eat but in the meantime if you have not been to Boston, put it on your bucket list. This is us on the Fenway Park tour. Amazing city!
My PSA for the week. Â Wear your sunscreen! I had a spot on my forearm that I will have to get cut out next week. Skin cancer. It is not malignant, but will have to be removed before it becomes a bigger problem…and we don’t want that.
I have had two dear friends that have experienced the loss of a parent this week. One was sudden and unexpected and the other was something that had prayed for. Two different conversations with very different emotions.
I have no less then 10 projects going on around the house right now. Â I am convinced that I thrive in a world with half painted walls, furniture moving from room to room and a project list that continues to grow.My friends and family don’t get me, but that’s okay. That’s who I am and what makes me happy. If you look closely at the wall you will see three different shades of blue. I have decided to move forward with the bottom right color.
My window cleaners were here last week and apparently had some windows and doors open when they were cleaning and a flying squirrel managed to come in the house, make himself comfortable and right at home. We only knew this on Monday when we awoke to him trying to get out one of the windows. Totally freaks me out. Haven’t slept soundly since then. I am thinking his girlfriend is still inside. My husband assures me, that is not the case.
I am so happy that are leaves our getting their color mojo on around the property so I can go outside, cut some branches, come back inside and create the easiest fall centerpiece.
What do you have planned for the weekend?
OMG you were in Boston last weekend! Wish I knew – would have loved to meet you and your ladies.
What an amazing city. Could have easiky stayed longer.
Hi
The comments about projects really hit home with me. It is funny how people can judge your life 🙂 when it is of no business to them as it is YOURS!! ha! I have the same problem.
Ha. I always like to think that they are living vicarsiously through me.
My daughter lives in Boston — it is an amazing city!! Love that bottom blue color. Will you share the paint info when you’re done?
Okay, I’m got my tea. With sweetener and a splash of soy milk. Looks like Boston was fun. Good luck with your surgery and so happy to hear it’s okay. So sorry for your friends. Love that I’m luring you over to the blue side ;). And a flying squirrel!!! Eek!!!
🙂 Linda
Cool series, I’ll drink my pumpkin coffee when reading this. Sorry about your friends and happy you had a great time in Boston, you can see it on your face. My husband gets carsanomas often. He gets skin checks yearly. The leaves are changed and are pretty

Hi Laura! I just found your blog early this morning and have been sitting touring your home! It is GORGEOUS!! I am originally from Massachusetts and took going to Boston for granted. Now I’m homesick!lol I totally get what you mean about people “not getting you” I’m the same and have my foyer half painted for the 4th time!lol I laugh because I left the French doors open trying to get the dog to come in and a bird flew in and around the house for over an hour while I tried to get it out hoping it wouldn’t leave me a present!lol I was unsure if it had a friend also but my hubby was away on a business trip so I freaked out a little. I look forward to exploring more of your posts. Have a great day – Jeannette
Hi Laura, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who’s family and friends “don’t get me” … When my mil comes over, I cringe while she looks around and says nothing… Except the time she asked if I painted the bedroom suite she bought for us when we married, she wasn’t amused. Oh well. Like you, playing in my house, changing, making, painting etc makes me happy and my hubby supports my happiness so it’s all good. Your trip to Boston sounds like fun and a squirrel in the house does NOT! I’m sorry about your friends loss of loved ones. Life is unpredictable for sure. I enjoyed my visit here. And I pretended to drink a pumpkin latte 🙂
Beautiful home and you!!! So glad to hear you are watching those “spots” and taking care of yourself. LOVE you lots!
