October Favorites at Duke Manor Farm
I am busting at the seams to share some October favorites at Duke Manor Farm with you.. not really ( about busting at the seams ), but I did want to tell you, just in case you are in the market for face cream, rugs or candles. I know, totally random, but it’s been raining here for like a year ( well….more like a solid week)  and I am positively going stir crazy being indoors….although I did start a totally unplanned paint project in the breakfast room.
So I was in Target a few weeks ago and was walking through the rug section on my way out and spotted this rug. I can’t even describe why I love this rug so much, but knew that I wanted it…but didn’t know where I would put it.  Does that ever happen to you? So I bought this small one to bring home and to figure it out.  I was thinking the family room, but it didn’t work in there. So I put it in the dining room and it was beyond perfect, but…..
the biggest they had was 7×10 and I need a 9×12, so I went back and got the runner to put in the kitchen. The rugs are very reasonable. I think I paid $59 for the runner, and $24 for the 2×3. They are100% wool and they are soft on your feet. It’s a happy rug ending for now.
My second favorite around here, is this candle from Bath and Body.  I love burning candles, especially ones that smell good and burn down clean. Besides, I like to diffuse the smell of chicken houses getting cleaned out with something more pleasant. I always wait till they are having a sale to stock up on candles and hand soaps.
My final favorite is a tad bit more personal…face cream. My next birthday will be a milestone, the big 50 and I want to make sure that I do everything I can to take care of my skin. I started using No.7 products about a year ago ( the serum, eye cream) and just started using this night cream.
I subscribe to the aging gracefully theory, but a little lift and luminate isn’t so bad regardless of your age.
So, do you have any of your own candle, face cream or rug favorites to share?
Hope you all have a lovely week. If you are a recipient of this bad weather, sorry, but I hope you’re safe.

for the ultimate sleep over ( endless snacks, no bedtime) with the kids this weekend, while Dad was out of town
I can see that rug love! And I may need to try out those face creams. You know, so I can age gracefully too …
🙂
we can gracefully age together! hope your trip to Tenn was fun. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

thanks Kari. I sure do wish the rug came in some bigger sizes. have a great day.
Just got back from almost 2 weeks of travel…came home to rain and from what I hear it has rained practically the entire time I was away…good thing I had great weather (with the exception of 104 degree heat in Vegas) when I was away…..Love that rug…I could use that runner as a matter of fact….My favorite aging cream you ask?….hmmmm….how about a plastic surgeon in a jar!!!…that will do it!
you should have stayed where you were although the weather is now starting to get better, hope you had a great time. your pics were fabulous.
I love candles too, but I always space out and forget about them, so I don’t put them out anymore! I started using serum on my face two years ago, and it’s really helped my skin – I tend to raise my eyebrows a lot, and serum has helped with developing wrinkles there.
i use to do that but now I have a space in the kitchen that I can see and get to them besides I tend to burn one down before moving on to the next. I burn candles alot. hope you are having a great week!
