Why We Are Thankful….

I am putting aside my paint brush, the stories from the farm, jokes about my donkey and the project list today, in order to bring you something much more gratifying and from my heart.

I am very thankful and blessed ….. that my children have grateful hearts. A core belief that my husband and I walk through our life with daily. We remain conscious of the gifts and feeling of thankfulness in our lives.

This is something we have tried to instill from the very beginning with our children. Teaching and helping them to always give thanks for their blessings despite how big or small they may seem.

Regardless of how unfair life seems to be at times, when you can’t get what you want, someone leaves us, your best friend decides to sit with someone else, or you are fussing with your brother or sister, we will be thankful for the blessings that we do have.

Despite the decisions ( difficult at times ) that mom and dad will make on your behalf, we will be thankful for the guidance and love that we are shown.

Despite the fact that it’s not always fun taking care of all the animals, feeding, cleaning and collecting eggs from the chicken, especially on colder days, we are thankful just to have them.

And even though mom’s not the best cook, we are thankful that there is always food on the table…and a table to sit at.

For this we remain thankful.
I got the precut leaves from Hobby Lobby, spray painted them burnt orange and strung them up with some jute. Used white paint markers for our messages.

Enjoy this beautiful time of the year….with thanks and a grateful heart.
