Stepping Up My Cooking Game….. A Holiday Snack
If you follow my blog regularly, you know I have professed my less then marginal skills and desire to be in the kitchen. Sure I have the basic’s down for feeding the kids and packing school lunches, but my husband gets all the cooking kudos in this house.
So imagine their complete and utter surprise when I put this Pumpkin dip with ginger snaps and apples on the counter one day followed with a “Mom, did dad make that”? Very funny kid, very funny.
Pumpkin Pie Dip
1 package cream cheese, softened ( 8 oz)
1 can pumpkin pie filling ( 15 oz)
2 cups of powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Apple Slices
Gingersnaps
Beat cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Add in the pie filling, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Continue beating until smooth. Chill covered for 8 hours. Serve with the apples and gingersnaps.
Pumpkin pie dip….delish.
Faces on the family when mom cooks….priceless.
Who’s the cook in your house?
Yum, I love pumpkin.
Great job — the dip would be perfect during the holidays!
That sounds good. I haven't had ginger snaps in years! My husband is the meat cook in our house, but I do everything else.
Sounds wonderful. Can't wait to give it a try.
Sounds delious…..going to try this recipe with my family!

Looks delish! And somewhere along the line Mike took over cooking duties. And I let him! 😉

my husband does and I am grateful daily. Many coworkers have been jealous of my leftover lunches!
This sounds and looks good, plus it's good for you with the pumpkin. Yummmy. Guess can substitute low fat stuff. Going to give this recipe to daughter for her family, think they'd like it also. She has 2 teenage daughters. Thanks for sharing. Happy season
