3 Step Fall Wreath

There’s no telling who you will find greeting you at the door around Duke Manor Farm , it could be one of 5 barn cats, 5 fish, 3 dogs, 3 kids, 1 pony, 1 donkey, 2 crickets, 1 chicken or….. an owl. Today, I will show you how to incorporate the owl into a 3 step Fall wreath.

This year, I decided to put together some wreaths using these little owls that I found at a local shop in town. Funny, when I first put the wreaths up, our dogs wouldn’t stop barking at them. Hopefully the owls will be intact until the end of the season and they all become friends.

Supplies needed for the 3 step fall wreath:
grapevine wreath
2 sunflower picks
2 floral picks
owl
floral wire for owl

I got the picks and grapevine wreaths at Hobby lobby, but any craft or floral section should have them.

How to Make 3 step Fall Wreath

Step 1
Begin by positioning the floral picks on one corner of the wreath. They should be in opposite directions and have some space between. The good thing about grapevine wreaths is you should be able to secure the picks without using any floral wire.

Step 2
In the space between the floral picks, position your sunflowers  by securing the stems into the wreath. They should be layered on your floral pics.

Step 3
Place your Owl in the center (secure legs with wire) and hope dog stops barking.

On the side door, I used these same floral picks in a basket and replaced the owl for some cattails instead.

It stopped the barking.

  1. Laura I love the wreath. Dogs are funny they bark at the strangest things. I think it's because they aren't sure what it is. The basket on the other door is pretty too.

  2. These are adorable! Being a child of the 70's I said I would never like Owls or own Mushroom Canisters! I am now in love with Owls but I stand by my mushroom statement. Haha Thanks for sharing.

  3. Those wreaths turned out so cute! I love the owls you found. Making your own wreaths is the best way to have an affordable wreath. Especially when you need two matching ones. You are a wreath making queen!

  4. LOL- WHOOO knew it would be that easy to make such a cute wreath. Wonder what that dog would do if a FALCON showed up at the door?
Very cute, Laura, and I LOVE the side door basket, too- xo Diana
