Little Girls ‘Pink’ Bedroom Reveal
I think Lily’s little girls pink bedroom reveal, was probably the best project that I have worked on this year….so far. Sure there was the kitchen makeover here that I absolutely love, but there is just something about this room that makes me and my Lily smile….a lot.
When we first moved Lily into her own room out of the nursery with a ‘big girl bed’, this is how her room looked. All pretty, soft and calm.
And as she grew and the bed rails came down, I thought the room needed a just punch of color (well….. a big punch) to match her sweet little spunky personality…… Don’t let that pretty little grin fool you.
The whole design concept evolved with this rug and hairbrush……. which had the perfect shades of pink to work with.
Then came the wall paper, which by the way was my first time hanging paper….and won’t be the last. You can read more about that here. I finished off the walls and ceiling with a couple coats of bright white paint.
Next was transforming this table that use to be in the living room into a bedside table for her room, in a fun green color.
This was one of the original lamp shades that I designed and made a few years back when
‘lampshading’ was my hobby. Funny how this shade, right down to the green monogram, would be so perfect in her room years later.
Her previous bedding was a coverlet hand me down and a 10 year quilt that didn’t quite have the pizzazz I was after. I changed out her bedding for a hot pink throw and a lumbar pillow from PB and a white pin tuck comforter from Target. I made the other pillow with some fabric that I ordered when I bought the wallpaper from Spoonflower.
An old bookcase got some left over wall paper on the back side and a fresh coat of paint. Now it’s filled with a few of her fury friends, pink baskets filled with her favorite things and her books.
My sister took this picture which is so perfect for the room and I found the flower ball at Hobby Lobby.
Since I didn’t think the furniture that was in the room was going to see her through the next few years, it got moved to a guest room and I picked up a chest and nightstand at a local auction and refinished them. You can see that project here and how I saved $1143.00.
To finish this Little Girls ‘Pink’ Bedroom Reveal off, I found this sparkly little crown which is just perfect for Lily’s room……
and for the tutu wearing pink pig that it’s next to.

Many, many, many years ago (I am very soon 80), I colored a picture of a bedroom in a coloring book with the exact colors and have always loved these shade of pinks and greens together. Such a fortunate little girl and such a good Mom. Thanks for the nostalgic trip!

What an "outstanding job" and the "lots of work" you put into making your daughters bedroom so beautiful.
Mom take a bow!!!!
Stopping by from Savvy Southern Style.. You did a fabulous job, I'm sure this eclectic look will grow with your daughter for many years. I LOVE all of the pink, but that wallpaper is a stunner!
Laura! How did I miss this post?? This room is so damn great! Congrats on being the coolest mom decorator out there!
I came over from Thrifty Decor Chick. I adore the room you created for your daughter planning for my toddlers "little big girl room" and will be using plenty of hot pink, but I've worried it could get too sugary sweet, if you know what I mean. You've shown me how to balance it out with crisp white bedding and accents. I love the pops of green too. Thank you for the inspiration!
Cutest girl room ever –
