Monday Musings….Furniture makeover, wasp sting, and more from the Funny Farm.
Doesn’t look like much now but when I get finished with this cabinet redo….it’s going to look amazing. I will be installing some pattern to the back, some side panels and attach some awesome hardware. My vision makes me excited.
Did you know…. I am told that the juice from tobacco would have helped to reduce the swelling and pain from this wasp sting a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately I have no chew in my medicine cabinet…ha.
How do you treat a wasp sting? PS- sorry if this frightened you, but he is totally fine and was milking it all day.

I am a little peeved at my gorgeous sunflowers. Yes I said it. Seems that they drop a fine yellow dust, and if the arrangement is sitting on a white runner, even bleach can’t remove. Suggestions?
You guys thought this was a hoot, so here’s another picture from the funny farm.
Daisy Mae is either sayin, “Hey there buddy” or “Quit riding my ass”!
Which do you think?
I hope you have a wonderful week and if you are enjoying a day off today to celebrate labor day….enjoy and if not……I hope it’s still pretty amazing!
grateful
for rain over the weekend

I was so tempted to plant sunflowers for flower arranging when I heard about their stain ability. If bleach can't do it I don't know. If you find the answer please post. It's always good to know and I'm certainly glad your little one is better. Wasp stings are horrible!! I heard a paste of baking soda helps.
Maybe Biz? I soak old linens in it and it gets out a lot of stains, That wasp sting looks really painful. Glad he is better. xo Laura
i think he's saying "Dude… seriously?"… lol! Good luck with the sunflower dust — I've never had to get it out of fabric before so be sure to share.

Oh no your poor son 🙁 I was in our storage room the other day and something buzzed by my head…speed out of there quickly and slammed the door! Called the hubby upstairs to take a look it was two wasps… he sucked the up in the vacuum!! I hope the swelling around his eye went away. Love these shots of Daisy Mae…so CUTE!! Have a great week!
How could I forget about that fabulous piece of furniture…can't wait to see it transformed!!
Maybe she's asking if her ass looks to big? 😉
Happy long weekend, my friend!
🙂 Linda
That piece of furniture is so wonderful, will look forward to seeing what you do with it. Will be awesome I know. You do great job on furniture pieces giving them new life.
Oh yeah love the last comment from Linda, the way the chicken is standing that could very well be it. lol You ought to frame that photo for your bathroom or hallway, it's too darned cute to leave in camera. Hilarious. I'm waiting for one of our chickens to jump up on our dogs back. He loves our crazy chickens. We have chicken that's just little more dark golden than yours. Her name is Goldie, duh, who'da thunk it huh?
So sorry about wasp sting, put ice on right away as that stops venom from getting into body as soon or at all.
When I was a kid I got into a hornets nest, 3 of them got me on face, OUCH, so I can only imagine how much that had to hurt your son.
Having some fun, oh heavens no, hubs couldn't stand it if I got to do something I wanted to do. Like going to lake? Heaven forbid.
I did get our front hallway cleaned up really well and stuff out on front porch to take to storage garage. Have got to purge at least some of "stuff". Can't stand it anymore. Just too much stuff. Have shed of it full also but not tackling it when it's so hot. I'm finding this summer I can't handle the heat very well. Thought when people got old they needed the heat? Not me apparently. Only time I can stand heat is if I'm in water in a boat or on my floatie. Hope you're having great weekend.
Love the photo of your barnyard pets! And have you tried Benadryl for the sting?
OMG! Your poor son's eye. Glad to hear that he's better now. That had to hurt! I hate wasps. We've had our share at our house this summer too. They're so sneaky. Love that cabinet you're working on. It's going to look great once you're done with it.
Can't wait to see what you do with that lovely piece of furniture! I know it will be gorgeous! Sorry about the wasp sting. That looks so painful!

We have always used steak sauce or A1 on stings of any kind.
I think she is saying the latter!!!…..as far as the stains are concerned I have a friend who deals in antique linens…her formula is equal parts of Biz, Oxyclean, and Powdered Tide…
Poor little eye 🙁 The ears are backed, so probably saying git off my ass !
